Just wondering...

In regards to kids, little munchkin, little fart, little squidger.. are any of these terms offensive? Somebody has just said it's not 'appropriate' to call anybody's baby a little fart.. but it's not like I said little brat? Or little shit? 😂
I would have thought little fart like munchkin is more of a cutesy term? AIBU???

We had this on here the other day, with someone calling their child a little shite, and not understanding why others objected.

Can you really not understand why someone wouldn't want you calling their baby a fart, ffs?

PurpleDaisies · 16/08/2019 18:54

Why would you need or want to call someone’s baby a little fart?

NoTheresa · 16/08/2019 18:54

It’s horrible.

forkfun · 16/08/2019 18:54

@PlatoAteMySnozcumber and in Germany.

cushioncovers · 16/08/2019 18:54

Little fart isn't really appropriate to call a baby imo.

SexFarmWoman · 16/08/2019 18:55

I wouldn’t be mortally offended but I don’t think it sounds very nice. I wouldn’t find it cute.

yesIhaveanopinion93 · 16/08/2019 18:55

@HollowTalk little shite is different, the term shite is used as the politer version of shit so of course that's implying something unkind about a child 😂 little fart however I think is something that you need to be fierce sensitive to have to find a problem with.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 16/08/2019 18:55

When would you call somebody a little fart in an offensive way?

Well I wouldn't because I just wouldn't call anyone a fart & I'd be pretty pissed off if someone thought it was acceptable to call my child this.

It is in no way in the same category as munchkin or squidge - these are not bodily functions!

PurpleDaisies · 16/08/2019 18:58

little fart however I think is something that you need to be fierce sensitive to have to find a problem with.

What does it even mean? It’s a daft thing to say.

TrickyD · 16/08/2019 18:58

It is offensive and vulgar.

yesIhaveanopinion93 · 16/08/2019 18:58

Ah I give up! My friends don't mind, and in two weeks I won't mind when my 'little fart' makes an appearance and somebody calls her that. There's worse things in life.

Thanks for sharing the opinions though, I will absolutely not call a strangers baby this ever again.

OP posts:
forkfun · 16/08/2019 19:00

@PurpleDaisies
It seems to be locally a term of endearment. Language differs from place to place. Not that difficult to understand.

I wish people wouldn't get so upset by language. The intention behind it matters so much more. Said affectionately, it would surely be silly to be offended. Just think of how people can use the word 'princess' to talk about a girl. Could mean you are my everything or you are a spoilt brat.

Bertieandernie · 16/08/2019 19:00

@mollpop highly offensive Grin get a grip

yesIhaveanopinion93 · 16/08/2019 19:00

@PurpleDaisies I couldn't tell you, it's just a term I've heard used multiple times in affectionate ways and never thought anything else of it 💁🏻‍♀️

SexFarmWoman · 16/08/2019 19:00

You called a strangers baby a little fart?!

BertrandRussell · 16/08/2019 19:00

I don’t think it’s offensive- but I do think it’s a bit vulgar. Just icky.

IWouldPreferNotTo · 16/08/2019 19:00

Things i call my baby

Dick Shittington (when its nappy time)
Come filthy beast (the bath time announcement)
Who's made of monkey and farts? (when appropriate)

Bertieandernie · 16/08/2019 19:00

I’ve called kids worse Wink

cushioncovers · 16/08/2019 19:00

little fart however I think is something that you need to be fierce sensitive to have to find a problem with.

It means you'd have to be very very sensitive to be offended with the phrase little fart. Grin

Abbafabba · 16/08/2019 19:01

I can’t believe you called a stranger’s baby that!

yesIhaveanopinion93 · 16/08/2019 19:01

@SexFarmWoman come back to me when you've a less offensive username 😂😂🙄

OP posts:
catgirl1976 · 16/08/2019 19:02

Little fart is horrible. I would judge someone who used that.

Oysterbabe · 16/08/2019 19:03

You presumably know what a fart is OP? And you can't see why someone might not want their baby called that?

AmIThough · 16/08/2019 19:04

I think if you're around people who thinks it's ok, then that's fine.

Maybe it's an English/Irish thing.

My Irish uncle often says things that cause a sharp intake of breath from my English relatives.

SexFarmWoman · 16/08/2019 19:04

What’s offensive about my username?
