What do we do?

I’m posting mostly on here for traffic, as mums dads grandparents and parents to be (sorry if I have missed anyone out)
What do we do?
When I say that I mean our children, they are our future the way things are now in England I dread the future.
Parents hands are tied in reality.

I look through the generations, and I see that this one now could be the worse one and it is all down to government and do gooders interferences.
I have never ever been one for thinking that we should smack or beat children.
What I am asking is when does it end?
Kids telling other kids to kill themselves
Kids killing adults
Kids having kids
Is their any deterrent left for these kids to be decent adults?

Gosh, bit early to be drunk isn’t it?

Middledistancerunner · 16/08/2019 15:48

Oh! I’ve just thought you could be anywhere in the world. So I take it back, you carry on OP.

TheQueef · 16/08/2019 15:49

5o'clock somewhere.

historyhustle.com/2500-years-of-people-complaining-about-the-younger-generation/

Every generation thinks the following generation is awful.

It's rose tinted glasses. The modern children are no better and no worse than their predecessors.

dollydaydream114 · 16/08/2019 15:57

Yes, come on, everyone. It should be very straightforward to resolve this incredibly huge, complex and nuanced issue here and now in this internet chat forum of disparate, inexpert strangers. We could have this resolved by tea-time if we get our skates on.

It's already been tea-time in our house.

So move to Scotland.

Middledistancerunner · 16/08/2019 16:07

So move to Scotland.
As someone stuck in endless traffic on the M6 trying to get to Scotland I can confirm that it’s not as easy as it sounds.

TheQueef · 16/08/2019 16:10

Scotland is lovely.
If I ever had to move from Yorkshire I'd choose Scotland.

Jemima232 · 16/08/2019 16:10

@Middledistancerunner

DH and I moved to Scotland two years ago and I accept that the traffic at the northern end of England was very annoying.

However once we got here all was well. Pop in if you're passing.

Jemima232 · 16/08/2019 16:11

@TheQueef

You can pop in as well if you do.

StoneofDestiny · 16/08/2019 16:27

Yep, another vote for 'move to Scotland' 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 👏

TheQueef · 16/08/2019 16:29

Don't tempt me Jemima I'm pure Yorkshire, I will Pop In for two weeks in the summer holls, with DC and GP, and pester you for cheap places to visit Grin

MT2017 · 16/08/2019 16:30

Not all kids are inviting suicide or killing others, or having babies.

And I really don't think snacking them would be the answer Hmm

Jemima232 · 16/08/2019 16:34

@TheQueef

Let's do a house-swap.

Of course, DH and I would then have to drive up the motorway back to Scotland.

Possibly that negates our reasons for moving here in the first place.

Jemima232 · 16/08/2019 16:36

Be careful StoneOfDestiny

Scotland may end by being overrun by the English.

Oysterbabe · 16/08/2019 16:44

Gosh. I'm not sure when mine are doing that. It must be when I leave them watching Bitz and Bob to make dinner.

HeddaGarbled · 16/08/2019 16:54

Those do gooders doing good, the bastards.

StoneofDestiny · 16/08/2019 17:26

Jemima232
Och - they will be welcomed regardless Wine
