To think that pollen should just fuck off now?

I've been taking antihistamines since about the middle of March, and it's now cold and raining, and yet if I miss my dose one morning, my sinuses immediately fill up with crap and it's like I'm trying to breathe through cotton wool. The Met Office pollen forecast is still showing as "medium" for at least the next few days.

The plants and grass should now be accepting that they've had their fun and stop showering the countryside with their gametes so that the rest of us have to suffer the effects of breathing it in.

Disclaimer: I know IABU. This is lighthearted. But pollen can still fuck off.

Agreed. Totally had enough especially as I'm asthmatic with it too.

YANBU. I'm tired of the nagging of sinus pain every bloody day. My whole head hurts with it, just enough to be bloody annoying.

I'm just amazed by how crap I can feel if I forget to take my antihistimine one day. I'm sure it never used to be this bad this late in the year.

Yup. My asthma's been awful this year... I've coughed and coughed and COUGHED - to the extent that I've damaged my vocal chords and can only croak...AngrySad

Agreed

And of course, it's the male gametes that are the problem, isn't it? Selfish, entitled greenery making us all feel like crap so it can indulge its base lusts.

Hayfever is a feminist issue.

Poor you. It's awful isn't it.

My DD suffers badly and was taking antihistamines from the beginning of April. Then we went on holiday to Spain and her hayfever disappeared overnight. Maybe different pollen over there? Strangely it hasn't returned since we got back.

I'm not suggesting you move to Spain btw!

CheckingOutTheQuantocks · 16/08/2019 19:43

I would, gladly! I did still get it when I went to Italy a while ago, though, so knowing me it'd follow me to Spain too.
