Has anyone come across these kind of video diaries?
I might be way behind the curve because my eldest daughter has never shown any interest in youtubers but my 12 year old has started watching some this summer and I am completely baffled at all some of them.
Today it was a 20 minute clip of an ordinary family on a caravan holiday in France. Seriously? I have no issue with killing some brain cells in mindless summer holiday activity (I mean, I'm on mumsnet
!) but how can this have any interest to anyone?
Even reality tv is at least professionally edited to focus on the interesting bits. This was like watching the unedited lowlights of strangers' home videos.
Plus, surely in the short term it ruins their holiday to have to produce a 20 minute video to post every day (they do have daily ones - who knows what they find to say in all the others) and in the long term it forfeits their children's privacy and will cause huge embarrassment for them as teens.
AIBU to think parents shouldn't upload their mundane family life on youtube for a) their own children's privacy and b) other people's sanity?
