To want to dunk that Russian Priest under water and not let him back up

Baby being Baptised by a priest and he is so cruel to the poor child! Made me so angry to watch this. How is this acceptable? And his excuse is that the family aren't religious enough?!

Sorry, don't know how to do proper links!

I've realised it's not the full video there but I'm sure you can get the gist. I know he's been suspended but I just feel so sad for the baby. Shouldn't have happened.

These crop up in the media every now and then, some hugely over zealous/sadistic priest really doing something dangerous to a small child. I think there was one a couple of years ago that was similar.
All it makes me think is that in the days before smartphones/camcorders, and in the days when the power of the church was more absolute, this must have happened an awful, awful lot and there would be nothing the poor family could do about it. Hopefully this person will be 'struck off' or de-frocked or whatever the correct term is, but considering the institution, probably not Sad

I was born orthodox (they're the ones who actually dunk the child, rather than just splash them a bit) and I've encountered a lot of stupidity surrounding this.

Apparently, babies don't get sick from this if the water or the church are freezing Hmm. Mind you, one of the priests I knew used to say he'll dunk the parents in the cold water and make sure the babies are warm Grin.
