I love this place, but it like a different planet at times :) Feel free to add/ share...

16 year old apprentices on NMW should not only give their parents a third of their pittance of a wage for board; they should be eager and happy to do so.

Teacher's and social worker's are never ever ever ever wrong. Even if your child has no history of lying whatsoever; even if half a dozen sensible kids back your child up; the teacher is never ever ever wrong.

Ditto social worker's no matter what the OP's actual experience was.

Nobody would ever call a gender scan a gender scan, it would be a sex scan. Nobody on mumsnet would ever be interested in the sex of their own unborn baby, let alone that of a relative or friend's.

You cannot call someone your partner unless you have been married five years, and even then you're rushing things. Even if you live together, remember, he's not your partner....he's your boyfriend.

Being a SAHM mother is the worst thing you can ever do, even if your not particularly bothered about working. Your daughter's will never understand that woman can work unless you work full time.

Only the devil would give their child a name starting with K...

Nobody on mumsnet would ever plan a pregnancy in all but the most limited circumstances. Anything under 26 is too young, anything over 35 is too old.

Even considering a last baby at 40 is like considering one at 65.

Nobody on mumsnet would ever let their daughter wear pink.

Nobody on mumsnet would ever refer to "boys toys," "girls toys," or "boys magazines," "girls magazines."
