aibu - to be jealous or annoyed by this woman?

she is so perfect, always offering to help out, sort of too much iykwim, looks lovely, great cook nice house etc and always very organised, BUT can be a total control freak and really judgemental in a casual way. she pushes my buttons so I up my game by offering to do stuff for her then she gets really .... annoying... as above and then I wish I hadn't offered so end up sulking on the inside and having a crap time. so AIBU to dread spending the weekend with her? in a tent?

I don’t think you are being unreasonable in not enjoying her company; some personalities just don’t gel. However, knowing how you feel about her and her personality, why are you going away with her? A small space, such as a tent, is only going to magnify these issues.

So practise backing off from the friendship and let it go. Life is too short to maintain half-friendships; they should be full-on-fabulous or nothing. I have very strict rules about who comes into my friendship circle; they can be anyone from anywhere but anyone who feels like terrible hard work or engages in oneupmanship gets gently ejected.
