Commitment meeting with work coach

Just looking for some insight please.

I have just this week started my claim for universal credit because i am a single mother to a 2 year old who has been offered a flat through housing association and I have to claim housing benefit. Before this we were living with my ex partner as my Ds and I had no where else to go.

I am just wondering why i have a meeting with my work coach and what it entails. I only had my ID interview today at the job centre. I am getting extremely anxious over it and am trying to juggle the house move and everything else so i am feeling a bit overwhelmed and stressed as it is.

It's basically as the name suggests. They will discuss what you commit to doing in order to receive UC. This will depend on your circumstances eg do you work, how old is your child etc. If you have a job that pays sufficiently or if your child is a baby then there won't be any but otherwise will list work search requirements that you need to stick to. If you don't stick to commitment you could be sanctioned. It's really nothing to worry about, just a casual meeting to discuss your situation.
