Because no one has answered my thread in Travel :)

Thinking of going next year.

I have never been AI before and just wanted to know what it was like. Also looking at either a family bungalow with a jacuzzi or a Maisonette as we want DS to have his own space (so we can). If anyone has any experience of these rooms that would also be really helpful.

It would be quite a pricey holiday for us so I want to make sure its right so any experiences good or bad would be very much appreciated Thanks

We stayed at the hotel next door but had access to the facilities at the blue domes. It is a lovely hotel and the all inclusive aspect is really good, lots of dining options and the food was good. Loved the ice cream place and the waiter service on the beach.

Speaking to guests, it seems getting a sun bed by the pool can be hard as there are not a lot but I guess it depends on whether you have a private pool or not. We also found the evening entertainment a bit boring as our kids were older and the kids shows were repetitive. There was also a wee kids area with merry go round and they made candy floss and popcorn, good place for the younger kids to go.

We were there a few years ago so maybe they have made some changes and someone who has been more recently will come along and comment.

One thing we weren’t keen on in Kos was the airport, it’s tiny and felt very overcrowded with lots of people and not enough seating.

Thank you that’s really helpful!

Did you stay at the Norida Beach? I was looking at that and wondered if it might be better for DS8. Don’t like the sound of not being able to get a sun lounger when you’ve spent so much money... that is putting me off.

We usually go to quite quiet places but I really really fancy AI as a change to self catering so I think some things might be very different - like sun loungers

We were at the Norida, it’s had a refurb since we were there but food options were much more limited. On the whole though, mitsis hotels are really good for AI and the rooms are good for families. We also stayed at Laguna beach in Crete and had a good holiday, plenty of food options like the all day creperia and we were lucky to get a room with its own loungers right by the pool.

We stayed at the Blue Lagoon Village in Kos and would go back in a heartbeat. Great entertainment, great kids club, beautiful hotel and restaurants.

My son’s (teenager) just come back from Blue Domes with his dad. They absolutely loved it-he says the food was amazing. They were in a bungalow so DS and his stepbrother has their own room. It was literally a little room with two beds just off the main room but that was all they needed. He’s still in bed at the mo but will ask him about the sunbed thing when he’s up. He certainly hasn’t mentioned it being an issue and they spent the vast majority of their time by the pools.

We stayed there and it was our favourite holiday ever!

We had a big room, there was a delegate bedroom with a huge terrace for the children then we had a big bedroom with sofa & tv in, dressing room and nice bathroom

Our parents came with us and they had a standard room but with a small private pool

It's an amazing holiday, no issue for us with sun beds at all and fantastic kids club and teenage club

Oh this all sounds really positive - thank you!

I did look at the Laguna Prize but it seems to be a lot more £ for some reason (looks lush though)
