Is that completely batshit crazy or will no one bat an eyelid?

Am imagining angry French border guards rugby tackling me to the ground on the way back and putting me into a detention centre whilst I plead pitifully "Je suis une remaineuse" ....

Travelling on your broomstick with your black pointy hat and chanting about "eyelid of bat" I'm sure that 31st October is probably the best day you could choose.

Well I wouldn't let you back in........Smile

I don't envisage anyone being kept against their will come 31 October or 1 November come to that. You'll be kicked back to Blighty.

MaxNormal · 11/08/2019 22:37

We are going to be in Europe right over that time period.

Inferiorbeing · 11/08/2019 22:48

We wouldn't leave until 11pm anyway!

Karigan195 · 11/08/2019 22:58

If driving make sure you have the country appropriate license just in case. It’s only about £5. And keep an eye on if you need to get health insurance rather than relying on EU health provision like we currently do and then I don’t see a problem. Oh unless you’re taking a dog as rules may change re per passports

Crunchymum · 11/08/2019 23:02

Boris is going to fuck us over long before 31st October Shock

SirJamesTalbot · 12/08/2019 07:54

I was in Germany when we were supposed to be leaving in March. In going to be out of the country again in October, non-EU country though.

berlinbabylon · 12/08/2019 08:31

It is a bit annoying that they chose 31st October (thanks Macron) when it's half term in a lot of places. But I am sure it will be fine.

In fact for once only you'll get the best of both worlds. EU queue entering the country, UK queue coming back (well actually it will be UK/EU queue coming back too, but if you come back on 1st November onwards).

Whether you will have any money to spend if the £ carries on sliding against the euro is another issue of course.

As for border guards wrestling you to the ground, you could ask for asylum from Borisland. I'm sure it will be granted!

That’s a good point Babylon. I’ll buy them now.

we've managed to time a trip for our return to be the day of the deadline every brexit deadline we have had so far. Guess what- we are away in portugal in October and again are due to return on 31st October. Our passports are legal documents, this doesn't change even if we crash out of the EU. I would suggest you look at the small print of your travel insurance though as there have been some reports (on previos deadlines) that the insurance can be effected somehow

Us too. Returning via tunnel on November 1st. I am a bit nervous if I’m honest. Will have a dog with us and three dc.
