To expect Huggies pants to hold in wee!

BedraggledBlitz · 11/08/2019 10:17

Huggies night time training pants were £3 a pack in Asda, so I bought 2 packs. Every bloody night I've had to change sheets. My 4yo's wee seems to be coming out the sides of the pants, as the nappy-type absorbent "gusset" isn't even full. It even says "New better fit" on the packet, God knows what they were likes before.

Last night it happened twice. I'm knackered.

I'd rather use a pant type than a nappy as he sometimes wakes and uses the toilet.

Bloody waste of money.

Not all nappies suit all children, its trial and error

I wouldn’t expect nighttime training pants to hold in a full bladder of wee, no. If your little one isn’t waking when they need the loo, then revert back to nappies which will hold it all in. The training pants are just that, to train them to recognise when they need to go and get up to do it.

How much do they drink before they go to bed? Do they go to the toilet just before bedtime? You could try doubling them up?

Nappy pants are what you need. Most supermarkets have their own brand of nappy pants, pampers as well.

Yeah I brought those. They are for literally very small dribbles not full wee's - guessnthatsnwhynthey are trg pants. Gave up after 3 nights and went back to PJ pants. Then discovered washable one on etsy which are good. Ds3 is 6

Buy the bigger size. I used them with DS1 and he always needed the larger size, think they were for 7YO when he was 4!

But you do need to be encouraging him to wee bed and perhaps wake him for a wee in the night. They're not designed to hold a bladder full.

Wee before bed even!! Not encouraging him to wee bed!!

BedraggledBlitz · 11/08/2019 10:34

Back to nappy pants then. I thought he'd feel more grown up with the training pants, but clearly not right for him.

Yes I could probably do more to help him dry up!

They're crap. Stick to Pampers nappy pants. Much better!
