Hamleys demo lady left dd 6 in tears.

Summer hols day out, theatre and hamleys.

Having fun trying all the toys on display and v small budget to buy a toy.

Older dd goes to lady for hand tattoo. I asked younger if she wanted one she was shy and said no. However once older has one she wants one. So she gets in position and very curtly lady says 'no. Its not a freebie for all children it's a demo. I can't do another child' no smiles, no kindness and she looked as hard as nails as dd face crumpled and starts to cry.

Not a big cry! In the past they have always dine both dc, in hamleys and harrods.
And we have actually brought the set into the past but it's the fun and part of the toy shop experience to have something done there!

Not the experience I expected from hamleys of all places. Or was she right!

Gosh no! The girl couldn’t have been more than 17 years old! She talked and acted like a child, and my in-laws (who couldn’t even speak English as they’re from Naples) were equally as horrified.
I’m dreading @Bornfreebutinbiscuits to explain herself.
I’m praying that you say that you’re not the lady from last week, but then again, how often in a week do you see literally the exact scenario you described in your post.

@caroldanvers And I honestly don’t need anyone to believe me. I’m so disappointed in this thread. Its the worst thing I’ve seen on here and I don’t even know what @Bornfreebutinbiscuits can do now. It’s just so horrific to think that if you’re that lady, what on earth went through your mind when you posted this! And worse - what on God’s green planet you were thinking when you were at Hamleys!
Feel free to private message me because I’m just so stunned and confused and I’m begging to just understand you.

rohilda · 14/08/2019 02:01

This is literally like a novel! I actually cannot believe that this is real!

Moomin8 · 14/08/2019 04:52

Oh for heavens sake Rohilda has definitely over egged her pudding there. What a load of BS 😂

Mummyoflittledragon · 14/08/2019 06:33

I agree it’s bizarre. I’ve reported rohildas posts so mumsnet can look into the. as a poster because they have no posting history under this username.

ScreamingValenta · 14/08/2019 07:06
Shock
icelollycraving · 14/08/2019 07:20

Over egged there. Funny though! Grin

Aridane · 14/08/2019 07:53

Awesome!

pictish · 14/08/2019 08:19

Isn’t the internet weird? Or rather, don’t you get weird people on the internet?

What a pointless thing to troll about.

howwudufeel · 14/08/2019 08:26

All rohilda needs to do is describe the OP.

HeadintheiClouds · 14/08/2019 08:39

All op needs to do is return and refute it.

Moomin8 · 14/08/2019 08:42

Isn’t the internet weird? Or rather, don’t you get weird people on the internet?

Well, it is the school holidays. And the weather is shite.

Moomin8 · 14/08/2019 08:43

I think the OP left the thread aeons ago....don't blame her tbh

Sb74 · 14/08/2019 08:50

So, the doubters of the ops story will suddenly believe another complete stranger, who could be anyone, just because it backs up their belief about the op? Would you have believed someone who posted backing up op? Doubtful. It sounds far too ridiculous. Maybe the demo person is annoying lots of people with their amazing skills and personality and the alleged poster saw yet another example of this rather the op. Not sure it proves anything.

.... it doesn’t matter what kind of sales someone is in, the same principles apply. If you represent a company you have to do so in the manner they expect from you.

I bet someone from Hamleys saw this thread and posted that, esp if dubious history in here.

pictish · 14/08/2019 08:53

Oh I can’t say who the troll is, OP or ‘witness in Hamley’s’ - but it’s still an odd thing to create about.

If I was going to troll, I’d choose something nice and controversial to wind people up about.

1/10. One point awarded for shit stirring abilities...but let down by subject matter and content.

Sb74 · 14/08/2019 08:54

Seeing as we don’t know either poster there’s no point asking them to describe or refute anything.

HeadintheiClouds · 14/08/2019 09:15

That’s true. I just thought op would have fallen over herself to come back full of righteous indignation, as she’s been tagged by the new person.

notso · 14/08/2019 09:24

All rohilda needs to do is describe the OP.
What good would that do? We don't know what OP looks like, OP could say no that's not me when it was and we'd be none the wiser!

pictish · 14/08/2019 09:29

“All rohilda needs to do is describe the OP”
Lol! Genuine lol. Grin
This is my kind of daft logic. I once smelled a flame to see what it smelled of and burned the inside of my nostril. Seriously, I was an adult at the time.

Ferret27 · 14/08/2019 09:36

I don’t think she was being curt to your child I imagine her attention was on you... if she was so awful at her job then you would not have taken 2nd child to her .... she saw through you ...and maybe you should now learn the lesson so many people are trying to tell you ... which is please don’t try and slate someone who simply was doing their job .... and I imagine does this day in & day out so is perfectly good with kids but occasionally needs to put some parents in their place.

notso · 14/08/2019 09:43

Grin Pictish when we stayed in a holiday place with an induction hob I put my hand flat on it to see it it was working properly...it was, unfortunately!

HeffaLump1 · 14/08/2019 09:47

@pictish that is the kind of thing I'd do Grin glad I'm not alone!!

To the poster who said OP is long gone - no way. She'll be checking the thread you can bet! Would love her reply to being spotted (apparently)

coastey · 14/08/2019 09:49

She cried because she didn't get a demo tattoo! How are you bringing your child up? Hambley's did not guarantee anyone a free tattoo. It's the luck of the draw.

southbucks77 · 14/08/2019 10:08

@rohilda

Did she PM you?

howwudufeel · 14/08/2019 10:32

What I meant is the OP should describe herself and rohida should describe the OP. I appreciate this would have to be coordinated in some way Grin

Basketofkittens · 14/08/2019 10:38

Whenever I read a poor customer service story on Mumsnet I always wonder what the other side of the story is!
