Rainy day ideas and quick!

We had plans to head into the Peaks today as the weather was dodgy but not too bad when I checked last night. This morning the forecast is terrible.
I have 3 children aged 12,10 and 4 and we are reliant on public transport.

We've been stuck in a lot this week due to bad weather and are fed up.

What can we do with our day?

Knowing where we are would help hey?!
We are on the Hope Valley railway line between Manchester and Sheffield. We don't want to go into Manchester though. We are not far from the Manchester to Buxton line too.

Our rainy day plan for today : Lego building, give the stinky dog a bath, Paddington 2 on Blu ray and make our own pizzas for tea.

(my girls are 17 and 18!)

Head into your nearest town/village with a cafe for lunch, go charity shop hunting for games/jigsaws.

I'm very frustrated as we like to be out and about and have been stuck in a lot lately. Not helped by dd having a broken wrist so we can't even go to the park to play or swimming. The weather has been dreadful this week. Next week looks better but they are at their dad's. I'm planning on doing lots in the final week of the holidays when dd will be able to do everything again.

In the same boat with very limited funds as off on holiday in a week and need to keep back extra for that.
So far we've made cakes. Rest of day will be spent eating the cakes and gardening. Not very exciting.Confused

I know how you feel. It's really frustrating.

I would have a cooking day and plan a three course meal for tonight with aperitifs and snacks and drinks and get your children to make it. I would possibly tie into the theme of a favourite film that you already have (saves spending money on something new, might inspire them to watch the film without complaining that they have already seen it).

Make a home movie contest? Most phones have a decent video cam and simple editing software on now (iMovie). Everyone makes a crazy little “movie” of a couple of minutes long, and you can “premiere” them this evening with snacks and drinks.

We appear to be vegetating Sad I'll go to the shops and get something nice for dinner and ha e a movie afternoon or night. They seem happy doing very little to be honest. I keep hoping the weather will improve but within 10 minutes of it brightening up its raining again. It's a mile walk to the station so would be wet before we'd even got on the train. I'm just planning our next week together instead. Seaside and Liverpool museums and outdoor swimming so far.
