To not answer my phone to this person?

I have been getting random calls, daily, from a person I don't know. They have left a voicemail calling me a fcking cnt and telling me to call back. I changed my number not too long ago, so I assume this person thinks I'm someone else? It's just weird though. The calls are from a guy who I don't recognise but I'm a little paranoid that maybe it's a friend of an ex or something? What would you do? AIBU to just not answer?

Obviously block.

HollowTalk · 09/08/2019 19:43

What, they call you names and want you to call back? What for - more of the same? Do you have the number? Have you tried putting it into FB?

UsedtobeFeckless · 09/08/2019 19:44

I'd block them ... Why on earth would you answer?

Dhalandchips · 09/08/2019 19:44

Yeah, just block it!

Pipandmum · 09/08/2019 19:44

Hmm does it say your name on voicemail? I’d get a male friend to say ‘hi you have reached John and Jane Doe please leave a message...’ he calls it enough times he’ll realise it’s not the number of his whatever.

Drum2018 · 09/08/2019 19:45

Can you block the number or are the calls from an unknown number?

Sparklesocks · 09/08/2019 19:47

Definitely block the number and don’t engage

Mummyto2munchkins · 09/08/2019 19:49

Why would you want to call back if they're speaking like that Hmm
Are they addressing you by your name?

CallMeRachel · 09/08/2019 19:50

What would I do? I'd google the number / put it into Facebook etc to see if I could find out who it was. Also add him as a contact so you can try and see his WhatsApp profile.

Failing that just block and you'll never know or have to think about it again (unless he gets another SIM card lol)

Brideof2020 · 09/08/2019 19:54

Put one of those apps on your phone that screens your calls. Dont answer (obviously) but then block his number through the app. If it doesn't work change your number again?

coconuttelegraph · 09/08/2019 19:56

Are you asking this seriously?

You must know that there's no law that says you have to answer the phone, what an odd question

TheInebriati · 09/08/2019 19:59

Take the phone to the police. They can have a little chat with him.

The reason I ask is because I don't know if it's weird I just won't tell him he must have the wrong number? But he's so aggressive I wasn't sure if I was just being unreasonable by just not answering.

I block loads of people. Don't worry about it.

Ponoka7 · 09/08/2019 20:21

I'd text him saying he's got the wrong number.

Then I'd block.
