Noisy hotel

I am in quite possibly the worst hotel in Paris (yes, I know I am lucky to be here at all). Paper thin walls, noisy people walking outside - no air con so window open. It is 2am and next door has just had a shower and is now drying their hair!! AIBU to state that it is anti social to dry your hair at 2am!!

YANBU of course.

Tomorrow morning, get yourself to a pharmacy & buy some industrial strength earplugs. No idea what that is in French, btw Confused

Hope you manage to get a bit of sleep eventually.

Ooh go for a stroll along the river admiring the Eiffel Tower all lit up! Grin

Sunflowers - nice idea but couldn't leave DD on her own. Finally fell asleep around 4.30 - and woke up at 6. 😫 Today is going to be fun.

Bonjour! I had to comment as I am in a hotel in Paris too! It's nice and quiet though, sorry.

timeforakinderworld · 09/08/2019 08:05

Bonjour Sillybub! Have just been told I can move to a quieter room tonight - here's hoping! What are you doing in the rain today?

@timeforakinderworld
We're only here for a stopover so tried to cram as much of Paris into one day as possible, walking everywhere. That storm after lunch was crazy!

Hope you've had a good day and have a much quieter night 🤞

Sparklesocks · 09/08/2019 17:24

Oh god, I was in a hostel last year with a shared bathroom which was fine except the other room enjoyed having showers and drying their hair at 4am!! Madness. Hope the new room is better.

timeforakinderworld · 09/08/2019 17:26

Well we got rained on and then dh's wallet got stolen from his back pocket on the metro after me telling him not to put it in his back pocketabout 1000 times so hasn't been the best day. Grin

On the plus side, new room is much nicer!

Stayed in a cheapish hotel in Sitges, near Barcelona, once and the first night there was a stag party group running around the corridors shouting all night. Oh how we cheered when the police woke them up the next morning and herded them into a police van wearing only their pants.

Once in Paris we were in a similar type b&b. Someone downstairs was either a nympho or a prostitute - she had very noisy sex a couple of times an hour from about 8pm until very late. We were on our honeymoon and she had more sex in one night than we had all week 😂

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 09/08/2019 18:58

Every time I've been to Paris the hotels have been noisy even the posh ones
I did get some really good ear plugs there once .

SillyBub · 09/08/2019 20:24

@timeforakinderworld oooh I'd have been so annoyed with my DH. I was really clear with the whole family about pick pockets. I made DS give me his phone instead of carrying it in his pocket as usual and I have an actual wrist ache from the weird way I held onto my handbag and umbrella all day long.

I hope tomorrow brings better fortunes.
