What is this? Please tell me it’s special powers and why should I get involved?

I know it's called that as it's made with milk instead of water. I used to have it at my granny's when I was little. It's very soft and doughy, not quite like "normal" bread. I wouldn't go mad over it.

YobaOljazUwaque · 09/08/2019 00:04

Huh? No one is forcing you are they?

Its an especially bland soft-crusted bread, ideal for weaning and for fussy eaters but not for general consumption.

Whatisthisdairyproduct · 09/08/2019 00:07

I’m just curious. Never seen it before and wondering if it has any benefits over regular bread for my kids

Pathetic..thin...weird..fussy eaters bread.

Unless your planning to out wafer thin ham or pre sliced cheese between it then.. Meh
.

*to put

Whatisthisdairyproduct · 09/08/2019 00:10

Does it actually have more calcium than regular shop bought sliced bread? I do have a fussy eater (failure to thrive) but wouldn’t want to make his diet more bland if there are no benefits

Ok. So I should stick to the regular stuff Smile

@Whatisthisdairyproduct

Who told you that you should get involved? Confused

As a pp said, no-one is forcing you are they?

My kids loved this when they were younger. I still have to occasionally buy it if they come shopping and see it!

Seren85 · 09/08/2019 00:13

All I know is that as child when at my Aunties we had milk roll ham butties and they were great. Total nostalgia when I see it now.

YouFellAsleeep · 09/08/2019 00:13

My son and I where talking about this recently! He used to have it when he was younger (14 now) and he called it “tubby toast’ because it’s round like teletubbie’s toast 😄

BinkyBaa · 09/08/2019 00:14

I'm pretty sure it's just thin soft bread. I quite like it for toast.

Whatisthisdairyproduct · 09/08/2019 00:15

Ive just had a couple of slices toasted with marmite. I liked it Grin

I used to buy the proper milk roll, it was good, and like a soft round loaf with lines on.

I recently bought one, and it was foul. It was sweet and it went in the bin, really disgusting and not as it should have been. I have made milk bread and that was sweet too.

Warburtons is crap anyway, it doesn't resemble bread, just look at the ingredients list and then look at a proper bread recipe.
