I'm in the mood for some wise words

Mine: always pee after sex

Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.

I need to take this advice more often, especially on the internet.

echt · 10/08/2019 06:13

I think this is by Miss Manners, but covers it all:

  1. Don't.
  2. Be sure not to forget to.
echt · 10/08/2019 06:14

In the vein of my own advice:

Don't be a knob.

Covers all eventualities.

I can't say I've adhered to this on MN or in RL. Blush

If you aren’t using contraception, you are trying to get pregnant.

My dd told me I deserved better than her father!

Every corpse on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated individual.

Blunt one here: (as a fat person who had to lose a lot of weight for health reasons)

Life is like a box of chocolates - doesn't last as long if you're fat.

Seriously, don't get fat. If you do, then lose the weight before your skin loses its elasticity. Or you'll be left in your 50s with bingo wings like a flying squirrel... Blush

That’s a better version of one of my faves ‘ don’t try, can’t fail’ (courtesy of Bart Simpson). Unfortunately it is somewhat deeply embedded in my psyche.

Have a poo before a long journey 😳

UnravellingThreads · 10/08/2019 08:46

My dad's: When travelling, never turn down the opportunity to eat, drink or have a wee.

My grandma's: It'll all come out in the wash.

A great friend I met through MN (in relation to the days you're struggling as a parent): All fed, none dead.

growlingbear · 10/08/2019 08:52

When something bad happens, raise your game. So if you're made redundant, go for a higher job not a similar one. If your man cheats, go for a cleverer, more handsome, successful man etc. If friends bitch about you ditch them and find warmer, more loyal ones rather than trying to cling to them. Do this often enough and you start to feel excited when life dumps on you.

Bobbie3 · 10/08/2019 08:54

Be true to yourself.

Don’t suffer.

TheVoiceInTheShed · 10/08/2019 08:54

If you stumble, make it part of the dance.

You can do anything but not everything

Tidyroomfinally · 12/08/2019 15:05

From my wonderful and wise piano teacher when I had my last lesson with her aged 18:
If someone doesn’t make you 100% happier, don’t be with them.
Remember, you only get one chance so go for it.

easyandy101 · 12/08/2019 15:11

There's no logical argument against wearing a helmet
