best piece of advice i was ever given was when i went thru a bad patch with my husband, (i repeatedly phoned him being pathetic and he started to ignore my calls so the more manic they became)...'you have found that doing that doesnt work, how about not phoning and ignoring him'....blimey that was a big change, he started calling me asking if i was ok!

Try to actually take advice and it frequently helps.

If you let the skin on your chest get burned it’s gone forever. (I tell this to every young woman I know. Learned the hard way.)

I'm in my early 30s so at an age where friends and family are having children. (I'm not planning on any). Also my grandparents particularly my grandma are showing their age. I sometimes think I didn't appreciate or make the most of spending time with people or doing things while circumstances allowed it.

For example I never really thought in my early 20s to make the most of going on holiday with my mum and sister, or with friends. Because now they have children and we have careers it's so much more difficult. Or my grandparents visiting me in London being really special as it would probably be a bit much for them now.

So I suppose my advice is make the most of doing things with people because you never know how things will change.

Try to want what you’ve got instead of trying to get what you want.

Cuddle your babies, it goes so fast. Be gentle and generous, with everyone. Don’t expect too much of your friends, they have their own lives and struggles. Be optimistic. When one door closes, another opens.

When you have a baby family and friends will say this is how I did it. Smile and say thank you I'll remember that, then do it your own way.

A few things: always stretch when you get up. If you're wanting to buy something in a shop, walk away. If you want it, go back. If you can't be bothered going back then you never really wanted it.
Lastly, is someone deliberately offends you, don't give them the satisfaction of letting them. If they accidentally offend you, let it go.

So don't stay in that job/life/relationship etc and continue to be miserable. Life is too short.
