Oh my fucking God a monster crawled across the baby as I was reading a book (called Unfollow Me, not ironic and recommended it's really good) and the light of the phone mean I saw this horrible hairy cunt crawl over my baby.

Squashed it dead and fuck where is the justice in life.
Drama all round.

Pray for us.

FFS OP. Clearly when faced with the mutant demon spider, you should have taken your time, summoned your DP to bring you the Spider Relocation Kit (should be kept next to the Humane Wasp Distraction Wand and the Friendly Fly Net) then asked the spider was he okay with moving and how could you make his transition from baby's crib to his new home of choice as easy as possible.

That is a horrible looking bugger. Is the baby showing any... unusual behaviours today? Spinning webs with his toes? trying to climb into the bath?

CottonSock · 09/08/2019 08:58

I don't generally kill spiders, but that climbing over my baby I'd have reacted I imagine.

BigDamnHero · 09/08/2019 09:16

Willing to bet many of the posters hysterically screaming at the OP for killing a spider eat meat and/or dairy. It's fine to breed, torture and kill animals every day (animals that are very much capable of suffering - pigs are more intelligent than dogs and scream in distress when their babies are taken away) because their flesh is tasty but an arachnid that almost certainly doesn't even have the capacity to suffer and that startled the OP by running across her BABY shouldn't be touched??

Hmm...okay.

(And, I don't tend to kill things if I can help it but am also scared of spiders and can understand a split-second reaction very well!)

Years ago my friend found her toddler happily playing on the floor, when toddler turned around mum saw several hairy black legs protruding from child’s mouth!!! 😑

Pricedrop · 09/08/2019 09:25

I don't kill spiders, not because of any moral compass, but because I am too scared to do it

I have one of these and it is ace;

Pigs scream in distress when their babies are taken away? 😭😭😭

No more bacon for me.

Pricedrop · 09/08/2019 09:40

Moma cows scream ALOT when their babies are taken, so that you can drink their milk. They get really distressed

East7thst · 09/08/2019 09:59

the baby would have been lucky not to have been launched out the window. GROOOOO!

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 09/08/2019 10:17

Jesus christ I'm with you on that one, I'd have died seeing that.

MissB83 · 09/08/2019 10:35

Totally misread this thread title.
Thought it would be a spiderbaby as in the Father Ted episode.
Very disappointed and will have nightmares tonight Sad

Work12 · 09/08/2019 10:49

Omg you need to swap your baby now, how will you ever touch your baby again is what id be thinking haha. Omg that is awful!!!!! You were brave to kill it!!!

FurnitureAndBackgammon · 09/08/2019 13:48

Willing to bet many of the posters hysterically screaming at the OP for killing a spider eat meat and/or dairy.

Again, just because one eats meat doesn't mean every living thing needs to be slaughtered for NO FUCKING REASON 🙄

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 09/08/2019 13:56

That's gross! Unfortunately DS and I have a problem. We are both too cowardly custard to deal with eight legged freaks and since DH has died (he used to sort them) it seems like they are having a jamboree in or house. The other day a spider the size of that one showed its face on my ceiling. DS tried to swat it with a newspaper but couldn't reach. I left the room. When I got back he stated that it had gone into a crack in the ceiling and it was called Steve, he couldn't kill it Shock I wanted to burn the hose down!

For reference DS is 19!

SheChoseDown · 09/08/2019 14:04

It could have eaten your baby!!!! WTAF. Move. Move house. Move now

whothedaddy · 09/08/2019 14:08

I take it you don't live in a house with a cellar. That spider is tiny.

Really no need to kill the poor thing

PorkHollywood · 09/08/2019 14:17

No need whatsoever to kill it.

Confusedbeetle · 09/08/2019 14:23

well I understand your revulsion, but really? Do you live in Australia with lethal spiders? How are you going to teach your child not to be hysterical at spiders?

unk1nd · 09/08/2019 14:46

Shit I thought it was too early for spiders. Don't they normally appear around September-October time? That is huge, what a monster!

Toothproblems · 09/08/2019 14:48

We had a bigger one in our room last night. We put it in a glass and put it outside. It's just a house spider

BettysLeftTentacle · 09/08/2019 14:55

I’m loathed to say it but....

It doesn’t look that big to me. I have a harvestman in a glass on the kitchen worktop at the moment and he’s a big ol’ bugger. He’s staying there until I can work up the courage to throw him over the fence.

Crass12 · 09/08/2019 15:23

BettysLeftTentacle-Show us all a pic Grin

Aprillygirl · 09/08/2019 15:43

Jesus fucking Christ I would have keeled over and died on the spot at the sight of that gargantuan beast, and I think you were very brave to kill it op. And completely correct in doing so too, we do not want that fucker producing hundreds more mutants do we?

BettysLeftTentacle · 09/08/2019 15:45

It’s one of those ‘I’m not really a spider spiders’. It was hiding on a step of the staircase the cheeky little scamp. It might have to stay there until DH returns from work. Not sure if I can handle a return to the wild attempt gone wrong.

Alicatz66 · 09/08/2019 17:12

You were unreasonable to kill it .. I don't think it was seeking out your baby .. it just walked over it by accident .. calm down !!!
