You can buy toeless stockings and tights for that very purpose. Just don't wear black ones…

You can buy open toe tights from ASOS (and probably other places but this is the top one that came up on google!) - I probably wouldn’t wear normal tights/stockings with open toed shoes but in all honesty I bet nobody would notice. I probably wouldn’t cut them myself in case they started fraying or riding up.
