Wee bit of backstory: We've had endless problems with our roof leaking. We recently paid 2 grand to get someone to come round and give the roof an overhaul but we still have one point where it's leaking. The roofing company we used are now on holiday for 2 weeks.
We had very heavy rain here last night and when I got up for a wee at 1am, I noticed there was rainwater dripping onto the hallway carpet. Seeing as it was 1am, I stuck a large bowl underneath to save the carpet then wen't back to bed.
DP woke up this morning and was huffing and puffing raising his voice, telling me I ought to have gone and had a look in the eaves of the house to see where the leak was coming from so we could tell the roofers. Yes, really. He wanted me to go fetch the torch, pull everything out of the cupboard which houses the access to the eaves, and go crawling around in there at 1am in my pyjamas. 
I've told him this is ridiculous, I had to be up at 5.30am for work and if he cares so much, he can go crawl around himself next time it rains (we live in Scotland so not like there won't be plenty of rain in the next 2 weeks!) DP says I'm not being proactive and continued ranting at me until I left for work.
Would anyone else really have done this at 1am??
