AIBU to wonder where do bad people

come from?

I get there are personality traits which are hard or impossible to change, but how are bad people created?

Rapists, abusers, rude arseholes... List goes on.
How do they come to be?

Is it parenting or are some people just born evil?

@HouseholdPlantMurderer

If we were all born the same we would be clones. The answer to your question is the same as why do are some people tall/short, fat/thin' , its a mix of genetics and environment.

Start with this basic explanation OP.
Its interesting that's for sure.

I'm not really sure that there are that many "bad people". Most people do bad things sometimes, and I suspect that the right (wrong?) circumstances, many of us would do or go along with terrible things.

People generally think of themselves as good people and get really upset when that is challenged. I think it's maybe more helpful to think of harmful actions or patterns of behaviour rather than people being inherently good or bad.

Its in you when your born OR its the upbringing you have.

My mum had 3 kids with her first DH and they are all ass holes were as my Dsis and I aren't 😁

www.nhs.uk/conditions/personality-disorder/

It's not clear exactly what causes personality disorders, but they're thought to result from a combination of the genes a person inherits and early environmental influences – for example, a distressing childhood experience (such as abuse or neglect).

Being rude is hardly in the same category as murderers and rapists.

I have a friend who is a good person and would do anything for his family and friends.

He has also spent 30 years of his life in prison for burglaries.

He probably started off as a child with adhd, his mother couldn't cope with him, he went into care, was a victim of sexual abuse, then from care straight into prison where he then got hooked on heroin and has spent the 40 years since then trying to go straight, getting pulled back into drugs, becoming addicted again, committed burglaries to pay for his addiction and then back to prison again.

Sometime good people do bad things, and bad people do good things.

Thanks! I had a look at the links too.

What made me ask that question was an article on bbc about a rise of child parent abuse.

Especially @MrsKittyFane1 article was food for thought!

@IAskTooManyQuestions personality disorder is a serious thing. Interesting numbers here www.ethnicity-facts-figures.service.gov.uk/health/physical-and-mental-health/prevalence-of-personality-disorder-in-adults/latest
Wonder if they do the tests before sentencing with stats like that

Found it!www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-49207887

I do think it is a combination of both when it comes to serious things.

With small things like extreme rudeness I think it's the parenting.
