DH has dragged his feet doing much needed DIY. He's currently going between ALL rooms starting jobs then going onto others.

His shit is EVERYWHERE.

I left to go food shopping and he was in the living room doing plastering. I came home and he was in the kitchen - drilling, measuring, tools everywhere on all the surfaces.

Knowing he can drag on and on and on I said, very nicely, would it be a pain if he could be done by 4pm in the kitchen so I could start cooking - he replied no problem, he'll be finished way before then.

It's now 4pm and he's so NOT finished.

I'm losing the will to live with how long he's taking with all the jobs and that I have to fit everything around what he's doing. He's so methodical it's excruciating. He has one gear and one gear only.

Tell me I'm being totally unreasonable and blowing this out of proportion.

Ask him to focus on one room at a time

YANBU. Have takeaway tonight... Make him pay for it as you can't get into the kitchen to cook.

Pick up the drill and start to do the work by yourself. It always works for me when my DH leaves his tools out. It scares the bejesus out of him to think what I might attempt!
