I feel like I am going crazy with this horrible anxiety

I had to take the morning after pill a couple of weeks ago a day after sex, I've been taking test after test (cheap ones from eBay) which are all showing negative. However I took one today (clearblue digi) which again said not pregnant, but it hasn't helped my anxiety so I've wasted my time and money. I am still feeling scared and sick and I feel like my anxiety is causing me to have these horrid symptoms!

I woke up with awful sickness and diarrhoea which I get when my anxiety levels get very high. I am anxious because I don't want to be pregnant at all and I really do not want another baby. I know it's my fault but I really could do with support.

Has anyone taken the morning after pill and has it worked? Was your period late? What symptoms did you get? Please put my mind at ease. My period is due in 3 days but I'm quite irregular anyway between 30-50 days so I've no idea when I've ovulated or what Sad I'm fed up of feeling like this. I just want my period and my anxiety will go away cos I know what's causing it!

Go to your GP and ask for a proper blood test. It doesn't sound like you are pregnant after all those negative tests but no point in making yourself so anxious.

SparklyMagpie · 06/08/2019 12:41

It doesn't sound like you're pregnant but I agree I would go to your GP

I had to take the MAP last year and my period was slightly delayed by I think about 3-4 days, but i was absolutely fine

Anxiety is a big pain in the arse, I have had it for many years but please do go and see your GP and look into CBT therapy

BossAssBitch · 06/08/2019 12:51

You are very unlikely to be pregnant but if it will quell your anxiety and put your mind at rest, go to your GP, sometimes we get in such a fug we get obsessed with things and a visit to the doctors is the only thing that will ease your mind and give you some peace (I have health anxiety).

Thanks everyone my gp are useless I am actually in the middle of changing surgeries as I'm fed up of the long wait time between appointments and half of them are not very supportive. I have just been sick as well I just had an overwhelming anxiety feeling which has terrified me even more I really need help big time as soon as I HOPEFULLY realise I'm not pregnant and come on my period

I took ellaone, and was almost two weeks late. A lot of reviews online said the same thing. I'm sure it was partly the pull, but the stress and anxiety contributed too. I was bad - waking up with heart racing, feeling sick etc. Wasn't pregnant. I'm sure you'll be fine. Bear in mind that it's a high dose of chemicals, so it's bound to wobble your cycle.

cantbeatagoodramble · 06/08/2019 15:17

@bambalaya sounds dreadful exactly what I'm going through. Did you have any symptoms during the time you was late for your period! How comes you was given ellaone? They have me levonorgestrel (levonelle) as apparently ellaone is effective if you are over 72hrs but from what I've read, ellaone is more effective but who knows?

It is supposed to be very effective if taken as directed. Maybe try and distract yourself until your period comes.

I have anxiety.i worry a lot about 'what ifs'.
Worry when you find out you are pregnant.
At the moment you are worrying about what could be absolutely nothing.
Google some quotes about worry. Some really resonated with me and helped me put things in perspective when I was lost in this horrible mist.
Keep away from the researching of the pills and the effectiveness of them and all of that. It's not going to help or provide you with any answers, only frazzle you even more.

AnastasiaVonBeaverhausen · 06/08/2019 15:33

The MAP is essentially a massive dose of the hormones in a contraceptive pill. They can, unfortunately, trick your body in to making you feel a few pregnancy symptoms and can send your hormones crazy for a while. Your anxiety will be exacerbating all of these symptoms. You will be fine. Please stop worrying. If taken properly and within the designated time period (which you were), the pill is very effective.

My boobs are tingling and feel a bit sensitive which is worrying me even more but I'm hoping that's either in my head again or my period is about to come. I've never been so excited to actually get a period honestly

I'm not feeling right today I have woken up and feel really sick and got tingling in both boobs again! I am really not feeling it. I think I might have to get first response and see what that says! I don't know why I feel like It going to say positive. I can't remember having any symptoms this early with my ds but surely if clearblue digital which detects 25miu onwards didn't pick it up, it would be higher by now at this stage? Roughly 4 weeks. I'm having a major anxiety attack I had to wait til my other half leaves for work before I was able to properly panic and almost start crying. This is ruining my fucking life

Just an update. Turns out I am pregnant unfortunately :( the plus line came back thick and fast this morning. I'm devastated the morning after pill let me down. I actually feel OK about it, not as panicked as I thought. Maybe I am in denial. Furthermore I have decided I am not going to continue with the pregnancy though and have arranged an appointment for a termination. I can't continue this for the sake of my mental health and wellbeing. I really need help. Thanks to everyone for your continued support on here I really appreciate it.
