Stupid things your ex has said

As me and my ex are going through a really rocky path right now I remembered that he blamed me reading mumsnet as a reason that he slept with my best friend. Anyone else got any gems?

Apparently the reason I'd let myself go (I stopped wearing "dangly earrings" as much and short sleeved tops and not as much make up supposedly) was because I was in the room when my auntie passed away and that was my fault my grief manifested in a lack of care in how I dressed for him and what made him sleep with someone else. Rightio. Absolute tea towel of a man.

That I was "too fat for sex and he just wasn't attracted to really obese women". I weighed within half a stone as I had when we met which was slightly overweight. He had been secretly having affairs with 3 other women and the match.com profile he had set up to meet these women said he was interested in large or very large women.

So many things. One from an old ex that sticks out was he said I was weird for wearing jeans and a hoodie as no other women dressed like that. I immediately pointed out the many women in sight wearing exactly that and he was shocked as he "had never noticed women not dressed sexy". Hmm

That my completely platonic friendship with my female best friend was worse than him having a year long affair with a mutual friend. His gas lighting and isolating me from people had really taken a toll on my mental health but as low as I was even I could see how ridiculous that sounded.

He said that I 'wouldn't survive without him' ha, proved you wrong fucker

Way back in the 80’s when I had a little baby, a toddler and an emotionally and financially abusive husband ( not that I knew that at the time, only learned what he was in later years through mumsnet) and was trying to leave, I was told “I have a file of evidence that wouldhave you committed to a mental hospital and you will lose your children”
I was so terrified I stayed for another 4 years before being able to leave.
