have loads I'm sure (I can't think of many rn) but Van Helsing with Hugh Jackman is one of my favourites!

Vampires, werewolves a Dracula I have an inappropriate crush on a badass heroine, bit of cheesyness , adventure and all the things in between. An overall great light-hearted watch for me.

Just discovered it's on Netflix and my evening is sorted 😁.

AIBU to ask what are you fav films which the majority doesn't appreciate?

Oh and The Prophecy with Christopher Walken & Viggo Mortensen Grin

TweezerMay · 05/08/2019 17:34

I love a lot of the ones mentioned here - Robin Hood POT, Van Helsing to name two.

I’m going to say Titanic. Fuck me. It’s really not very good. Not the main story, which is obviously horrifying and tragic, but the love story. In the dialogue between Kate Winslet and Leo’s characters they say their names ALL THE TIME. It gets on my tits.

‘Wait, Jack! No Jack! I couldn’t possibly, Jack!’ JACK JACK JACK. We know his is Jack. So, presumably, does Jack.

It’s very cheesy. I love it though. Must have seen it a million times.

ScreamingValenta · 05/08/2019 17:37

TweezerMay Ooh, yes, Titanic. DH and I have a routine where we shout back at the characters during the sillier bits!

DrDreReturns · 05/08/2019 17:40

Rogue Trader with Ewan McGregor. Everybody hated it but I thought it was really good!

ReinetteP · 05/08/2019 17:40

Jupiter Ascending.
I've not met anyone who likes it, but Ex and I loved it and he used to say I look like Mila Kunis...

Yaflamingalah · 05/08/2019 17:43

All of the ‘Vacation’ films with Chevy Chase

Boneshere · 05/08/2019 18:03

Enchanted is an amazing movie! Hercules and Princess and the frog are my other Disney favs!

Not many people are keen on those, in comparison to the others.

babycakes1010 · 05/08/2019 18:04

Massive Adam Sandler fan and love that's my boy still makes me laugh every time I watch it

ChickenTikkaTellMeWhatsWrong · 05/08/2019 18:11

@Boneshere omg I love Enchanted too, but when I say it to people they're like......really HmmGrin

EdWinchester · 05/08/2019 18:14

Meet Joe Black.

I know it was panned, it I love it.

EdWinchester · 05/08/2019 18:14

*but

MumUndone · 05/08/2019 18:28

Hold on, there are some films being mentioned on here that are generally loved, no? I mean, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves? Classic! Despite the dodgy accent.

CoraPirbright · 05/08/2019 18:35

Don’t hate me but I love Practical Magic Blush

Sagradafamiliar · 05/08/2019 18:35

Jingle All the Way

FilthyforFirth · 05/08/2019 18:37

Love Actually. I actually love it and dont understand the criticism AT ALL. I also might watch it all year round... Blush

Boneshere · 05/08/2019 18:39

I really enjoyed Meet Joe Black, I only recently found that one!

And I watched practical magic about three weeks ago, I love that movie too!!

I also really love runaway Bride.

rookiemere · 05/08/2019 18:40

Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Everyone is really sniffy about it and say it's not a patch on the book, but I never got past pg17 even though I tried three times and the sad scene always gets me sobbing. Even Nicholas Cage is bearable.

Haha, I knew someone would say Lost in Translation but I really like it, visually it’s gorgeous. I also love Rocky IV (ludicrous but entertaining) and Father of the Bride I and II (just plain daft but I love it!).

Raffles1981 · 05/08/2019 18:56

@Gingernaut it was thanks to Con Air that I discovered the delicious John Cusack Blush
Mystic pizza is another good one.

MariaVonBratt · 05/08/2019 19:38

I always thought meet joe black did quite well....great cast anyway

ThatssomebadhatHarry · 05/08/2019 19:41

Willow2017

Highlander god yes I love it Christopher, Clancy and Sean all in one film! (and who wouldn't want to be 'Heather'??

I actually watched Highlander recently as I read that Prudie from Poldark was the actress who played Heather. It made me think iv not seen that in ages. Fab film.

Others to my list are Robin Hood- but my crush is on Michael Wincott who played The SON cousin. It’s the gravel voice. Another is Kickboxer I watch that ever six months.

Fluffiest · 05/08/2019 19:58

This thread has made me happy, I'm compiling a list of forgotten favourites for me to watch again. I love so many panned films. Just watched Van Helsing yesterday - it is a CGI cheese fest but I love it.

Three men and a little lady - childhood favourite
High Spirits - how could I have forgotten this. Could do a movie marathon with this and Death Becomes Her!
Waterworld - solid action movie as far as I am concerned
Hudsons Hawk - Bruce Willis singing! So slick
Down with Love - I don't understand how this isn't a romcom classic
The Lord of the Rings (70s cartoon version) - I can recite this word for word and it pains me that I know no one else who's seen it
Sahara - great action adventure film that is actually hilarious and has Dwight from the office in it.

Twilight. The acting is terrible but I fell in love with the books and now watch the Twilight movies at least once a year to get my fix. I really should just re-read the books.

Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion. Utter waffle but I love it. Really cheers me up.
