Leather shoes-smart
Adidas casual trainers
3 pairs of good quality socks
2 pairs of cheap socks
2 pairs of smart work trousers
2 smart work tops
pair of levi jeans
3 high quality plain cotton tops
cheap bathing outfit

These were bought from Hobbs/Reiss for the smart/good quality stuff

It depends how often you buy these things and what your household income is.

I don't have as big a budget as yours it would seem at 1st glance, but you might be buying for all autumn/winter in one go for all I know.
I might end up buying those things over the course of a few months. I'm starting to think it's worth paying more for better quality things than buy fast fashion. It's better for the environment and (depending on where you buy) the workers too.

This lady has some very helpful videos if anyone is interested:

The link is about capsule wardrobes ^^

What's the point of your question? Confused If you are happy with what you bought and have the budget for it then so what?

I only buy from charity shops, just a choice I make, nothing to do with not being able to afford new clothes but its absolutely not a priority for me and, having worked in the fashion industry, I don't want to support it anymore.
I much prefer to buy my clothes in charity shop, it's a form of recycling as well, I hate the fast fashion, disposable clothing trend .... and I get lovely designs for sensible prices, and the charity benefits. win win win Grin

Levis jeans as they're expensive but new ones are not great quality.

It's a personal thing but I think there the best fitting, most comfortable jeans I've ever owned.

I would say you are paying enough for good quality, but not paying through the nose for brand snob value.

YANBU

NCforthis2019 · 04/08/2019 14:35

Can you afford it?

Yes - yanbu
No - yabu

It’s all relative isn’t it - to how much you earn? Anyone could easily spend £500 on a pair of leather heels. £60-80 on a decent work shirt.

ArgumentativeAardvaark · 04/08/2019 14:35

Yes, if all the work stuff was from Reiss and Hobbs then you’ve done well there. I love a sale bargain! Reiss clothes don’t fit me at all as they are designed for tall people with no curves. Their trousers would be good quality but I’d be wary of tops as they are often quite floaty material and hand wash or dry clean only and/or need a load of fiddly ironing, which would offset the bargain price for me.

That sounds about right to me for what you bought.
I just spent £65 on two jumpers and a pe top for Dd. That seemed a lot to me for what we got.
