I dont get it. Its so monotonous and seems to go on forever and the scoring is all over the place. Its all wickets and runs and overs. At least with football when the ball goes into the net you know that someone has scored, same with rugby when the ball go over the line. But cricket just completley and utterly baffles me and always has. Yet some people seem to really love it. Yesterday I saw a bloke who was clearly meant to be working sneakily watching the Ashes on his mobile phone, its obviously rivetting to some.

Its just boring shit though, isnt it?

YANBU. I find watching any kind of sport dull, but cricket wins the prize for the dullest of all. Fortunately DP has no interest in it whatsoever so I am spared the ordeal, and when it comes to rugby (his preferred sport) he is happy to watch it with his mates in the pub.

There are love island threads yes, most of which were whats happening tonight ....whos watching...what is a half girlfriend curtis? We want this couple to win. Same with all the other reality shows in fact the most common response to those who call tjese shows shit without watching them is "if you dont like it dont watch it" which is the attitude to both cricket and football too.

My DC are still young but if they did both get into cricket when older, I can see the appeal of me-time when they and DH will be out all Saturday! But no signs of them liking cricket. They do like golf, like DH does too. I think i’d prefer that to cricket
