To ask why posters who consistently gave message deleted aren't banned?

I am sure I am not the only one to notice posters like Brain06626 seem to be here just to post comments that don't meet the guidelines and cause hurt and upset

Despite the fact HQ are pretty quick at removing them, it is obviously a spiteful game by small minded individuals, wouldn't a 5 strikes and you're out be a fair system? What do others think?

I've noticed one in particular doesn't get banned despite multiple message deletions...!

I guess you'd have to ask on site stuff, as we don't make the rulz, you and I

Frownette · 03/08/2019 07:55

Why are you in the shed, anyway?

Lizzielocket · 03/08/2019 07:55

Agree, I’ve seen lots of deleted posts by the user above but never an actual post. I have no idea how offensive they have been.
A lot of bitter people come online to vent their frustrations and are likely to upset vulnerable people genuinely asking for advice, for some women (particularly in abusive relationships) it could well be the last straw for them to receive hateful posts when they are already broken. Repeatedly offensive posters should be banned.

Janista · 03/08/2019 07:57

Some users who you see have their posts deleted are spammers who post porn site links in the middle of the night across multiple threads. Bizarre .

AuntieStella · 03/08/2019 07:58

MNHQ can and have suspended and banned posters for that.

You are asking for what already happens.

If you are concerned about the cumulative effect of a poster, just report it to MNHQ in these terms and let them assess.

NiteWotcha · 03/08/2019 08:00

Brain and Alesha (sp?) last night were spambots - automatically spamming the boards with links to porn.
Not real people Smile

It seems very unfair when posts viewed as transphobic are on a "3 strikes and you're out" rule.

I've seen posts likely to cause a great deal of hurt from several posters who still post away and will continue to do so. Yet other posters are banned for alleged transphobic posts.

The TRAs watch the boards like hawks and report. MNHQ needs to stand up to them or give every report a 3 strikes and you're out rule.

UrsulaPandress · 03/08/2019 08:04

Is it only supposed transphobic stuff that has a three strikes rule?

scaevola · 03/08/2019 08:05

"it is obviously a spiteful game by small minded individuals,"

Yes there is an individual behind thus somewhere, but those psters were not real. They were spambots, posting ads

"wouldn't a 5 strikes and you're out be a fair system?"

If you could produce something that would reliably detect and zap the posts ofma spam bot within 5 posts, you'd make quite a lot of money from it. Even human eyes/reactions can't manage that.

Agree that actual troublesome posters do get banned/suspended, either for posts beyond the pale or persistent posts that dance round what is permissible but gradually add up to unacceptable.

"Is it only supposed transphobic stuff that has a three strikes rule?"

No, not from what I see. Some things have zero tolerance. Others work on same basis.
