Hi, I’m new to this site and it’s my first pregnancy. I got some really sad news today when I had my 12 weeks scan. An intracranial cyst and build up of cerebrospinal fluid in the fetal brain ( babies head is the size of 15 weeks so bigger than should be ) I’m literally driving myself mad googling things! I know everything that happens next will depend on my results but I have to wait 10 days for them and I just wanted to know if anyone has gone through something like this and if there is hope 😢....or if someone has been through this and the outcome isn’t good would also like to maybe prepare myself x

Hi. My friend's lo was found to have fluid on the brain and consequently not all his brain developed properly in the womb. She had several scans to monitor him.
They delivered him slightly early due to concerns about his head and it was via c section due to enlarged head.
He is now nearly three. He does have developmental delay but is making progress every day with lots of support from physio etc. He's a sweet and friendly little boy.
It was a scary and difficult time for my friend and although things aren't easy for them now, he is a lovely little boy.
She's gone on to have another baby who has had no complications.
I hope that's of some comfort.
