To get a new sofa after only 3 years?

Three years ago I bought a sofa from made.com that's a pain in the arse. It's already saggy and after EACH time you sit on it you have to plump it because the cushions are stuffed with feathers. I hate it. It looks like a sad old man. Plus my kids have wrecked it with milk spillages.

Damn you instagram for cheating me into thinking this sofa was the business.

I know it's incredibly wasteful but DFS are in sale and they've some great 0% finance offers...

@Twixes

Oh I just noticed you had it restuffed. (Only read page 1 before posting!!!) That looks waaaay better. Smile

I take back my comments. Looks fab now. (Especially with the cushions!) Smile

Great to hear positive feedback. I think I saved myself a few grand just there :)

@twixes, i've just searched out this thread as I remembered someone mentioned where to get new cushions from and the time has come for me to replace ours.

Where did you get yours done - they look fab

Twixes · 28/08/2019 14:14

PinkOboe I went to my local upholsterer and he added more stuffing, very simple job and no new cushions were needed!

I had a sofa from DFS that actually looked near enough the same to the one you’re currently considering from DFS. Six months later it was saggier and tattier than your current one, and there was only me and partner using it, no kids. Honestly the style of your current one is much nicer! Maybe give it a wipe down clean for non removable bits and get the back cushions re-stuffed as PP have said with something sturdier. It’s definitely got a bit more life in it yet! Then maybe you can save and do some research so that when you do replace it’s with something quality that will last, which you won’t find in DFS!
