To get my tooth taken out... Holiday on Saturday and in pain

I've had a bit of tooth and jaw pain for a few days now. Nothing too serious. This morning it got worse. Saw dentist who filled a small cavity and said she thought there is a crack on the existing deep filling which is aggravating the nerves and will need a future crown and root canal work. Well... the anaesthetic injection has worn off and am in agony. Pain radiating from tooth into jaw. Paracetamol not touching it but have some paracetamol and codeine I will use later. I am due to fly to Spain on Saturday and don't want to be looking for a dentist when I'm there. I'm tempted to ask the dentist to remove the tooth tomorrow (it's a back tooth) Am I mad? I have a full set of 32 teeth so have never had an extraction but don't want my holiday ruined by pain.

Go ahead you will be fine...be brave ring the dentist! Then go have a happy holiday!

I would have it done here.

I had a molar tooth extracted- it took around 9 days for the pain to die down. So maybe take some pain killers with you too just in case.

Get it done and ask for a pain med prescription.

Only thing is if anything goes bad once done your insurance isn’t likely to cover it.

Do it but make sure you follow after care. I had dry socket after an extraction and it was hands down the worst pain ever and 10x worse than the original toothache

Ooh, I've had exactly that! Severely cracked tooth causing horrendous pain required extensive root canal work (several sessions & temporary patch ups) & was supposed to finally have a crown fitted but in the end the tooth just wasn't stable enough & ended up having it removed altogether - REALLY wish I'd done it in the beginning - would have saved me lots of discomfort & a TON of money! If I were you, I'd get an emergency dentist appt tomorrow- they should be able to stop the pain immediately & patch it enough for you to have your holiday then you can decide what to do for the best when you get back.
