To be scared shitless about posting anything sensitive these days because of the journalists?

In the last few days theres been at least 3 or 4 threads snatched by the journalists, later pulled for privacy concerns. I remember when MN used to be a safe place to discuss things in relative privacy and now the online newspapers snatch every second thread

It’s never been “a safe space”. It’s an open access, unmoderated Internet forum.

Meh

While i don't agree with the journalists lifting things from here I do think it's quite bizarre to think people couldn't have read it on here anyway. I mean, if you put your story online, it's visible.

IAskTooManyQuestions · 01/08/2019 12:08

The internet has never been 'safe'.

I link stuff from here all over my SM all the time Blush it's a public forum, you dont have to be a member to read it.

Hundredacrewoods · 01/08/2019 12:09

It’s really not hard to have a discussion on sensitive issues without giving identifying details

What do you mean, do you share posts from AiBU as a conversation starter on your Facebook status or something?

GimmieTheCoffeeAndNooneDies · 01/08/2019 12:39

It's the internet not your front room. Mumsnet like stuff being picked up newspapers because it drive traffic to their site. They are a commercial organisation not your Bessie mate.

If you want to discuss things in private, join a closed group or don't give specific details if you discuss it here.

Mousetolioness · 01/08/2019 13:48

I'd hesitate to call them 'journalists'. Any lazy-arse idiot can copy and paste an online article. So I think you're unreasonable from that perspective.
