Dehumidifiers, help!

We have always had a bit of a problem with damp, and condensation. I've been meaning to buy a dehumidifier for a long time but keep putting its off. Last night got into bed and the sheets actually felt damp!

How do I chose the best dehumidifier and should I get one big one and put it in a central location in the house (small bungalow) or buy 2 small ones and put them in the worst rooms?

We found it better to get a big one and change the location every few days. You’ll know it’s working when you empty the tank!

Is there anything you can do to avoid this? We were drying clothes inside but were both out of the house 9-5 at the time, so couldn’t leave windows open!

I have my Windows open all day, I work from home so especially in this heat. Haven't even been hanging washing up to dry as it's so humid here just now, it takes too long. I think it's worse at the minute because we haven't got the heating on at all because it's so warm but so wet outside. Thank you I'll probably go with a bigger one
