& I'm not talking about for little kids. I HATE this word. I confess I'm biased as I had some unfortunate incidents as a kid but really? Panties, it's SO old-fashioned. Yet I saw the word used in signage in Victoria's Secret today. It just gets under my skin. Knickers, pants, kecks, grundies, ANYTHING but panties.... bleurgh...

You've obviously not done any sexting then @Juells.

OldAndWornOut · 02/08/2019 20:39

My choice of porn never includes people who say "panties".

PiggyPokkyFool · 02/08/2019 20:44

Only if they are frilly nylon panties pulled right up tight - but then I am a dedicated follower of fashion....

Uurggh, panties is a horrible word. It sounds twee and porny at the same time. Have you ever heard the Barry White song “Pale Blue Panties”?

Glitterblue · 02/08/2019 20:49

I saw someone British use it on Facebook today. I've never used it and never will!

TheDarkPassenger · 02/08/2019 22:16

I’d rather hear panties than grundies.. ewwww

Teddybear45 · 02/08/2019 22:17

I use panties. Better than knickers.

I once worked with some actors who made it through dry seasons by redubbing American porn films with British accents and using words like "knickers". Apparently there is a niche but lucrative market for it.

Sorry if this has already been said but here's the origin of Grundies

grundies
(Australian): Underpants.

Derives from Sydney Rhyming slang, "Reg Grundies = Undies", which is a reference to that excellent Australian TV production outfit Reg Grundy, behind such televisual classics as Neighbours, Home and Away, The Sullivans, etc
