I have scraped together enough to take my kids away for a few nights, thinking Blackpool as lots to keep them happy but inexpensive. Going to book something last minute tonight.

Can anyone recommend a hotel though? All seem to be much of a muchness in terms of price, online pictures etc so any help would be very welcome.

The Claremont is fab, you can get weekend deals with breakfast and evening meal in. It has a pool in the basement, is on the front and they have a kids club with disco and cabaret in the evening.

It’s choice hotels and you get the best deals if you ring them direct.

Have a great time.

I stayed in the Doric Hotel when my son was 10. It has lovely family rooms and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as games room. It was quite reasonable to stay half board, and the food was great. We didn’t avail of the evening entertainment but there seemed to be a lot on, and also had a kids entertainer.

We had one night Big Blue next to the Pleasure Beach. We loved and it and plan to return for a longer stay. For us having a separate area for the kids was a real winner. We had a view of the Pleasure Beach so we could sit and watch the roller coasters from the sofa.

The Paradise in Blackpool is supposed to be good, if not a little different.

LemonadePockets · 31/07/2019 21:15

Haven’t been but planning to go and got lots of recommendations for the Big Blue

Mosschopz · 31/07/2019 21:15

Also stayed at the Big Blue. Very family friendly with absolutely no pretensions but a good cocktail menu.
