Drinking on the way to football.

Serious question. Go to the football most weeks and take turns driving with someone else. He doesn't drink 😩. Take 3 kids with us. Very difficult watching utd every week with fuck all drink. Guy doesn't like drink. AIBU taking a 6 pack in the car when he is driving. Makes the football far more enjoyable.

Do you have to go if you don't enjoy it?

Bluntness100 · 31/07/2019 13:43

You do you.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 31/07/2019 13:43

How old are the children? Is he going that have to look after the children if you're drunk?

I go to the football weekly as well, I don't personally drink a lot anyway so never drink there. I'd be fine with it if it was just you and me however wouldn't be too impressed if I had to deal with three kids and someone who's drunk.

TanyaChix · 31/07/2019 13:56

Given that he’s not drinking because he doesn’t like it rather than because he’s the designated driver, I see no problem at all with you taking beer or two. I’m a PL season ticket holder btw so I understand 😂

Edgarj7674 · 31/07/2019 13:58

Thanks for the replies - I’m hoping that he doesn’t get offended if I pop a can open in the car. My mates have suggested some vodka in a bottle of coke but I’m not sure.

@MakeItRain yeah I literally couldn’t go without a drink - it’s my only release from the drudgery of domestic life.

You want to get wankered in the car with three kids and teetotal driver ?

Sirzy · 31/07/2019 14:13

Why are you going at all?

I go to the rugby and I do enjoy a drink there if not driving or in charge of children but if I was at a point I couldn’t face it sober no way would I go!

iklboo · 31/07/2019 14:13

If it's so painful to watch football that you can't do it without getting wrecked why do you go?

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2019 14:14

OP if this is a serious thread then just ask him, rather than risk 'offending' him.

As for those talking about the OP getting 'drunk' or 'wankered', literally nowhere has he said that.

It's 6 cans and he hasn't mentioned the strength either.

WorraLiberty · 31/07/2019 14:15

Oh we have a 'wrecked' now too Grin

Any advance on that?

How about 'paralytic'?

Treaclesweet · 31/07/2019 14:16

6 cans is loads of anything! 2 tinnys aye maybe but I think it's unreasonable to get pissed around sober people.

InsertFunnyUsername · 31/07/2019 14:17

You mean to tell me you want to get off your face with kids in the car Wink

OP, i enjoy a couple of drinks at the football and would take a couple of the pre mixed drinks for the ride there!

Morgan12 · 31/07/2019 14:18

6 cans of what? When my DH drinks 6 cans he is either drunk or very much on his way.

I don't see why you need to drink to go to the football. If there was a crowd of mates fair enough but it's a children and a non drinker.

NoBaggyPants · 31/07/2019 14:18

yeah I literally couldn’t go without a drink - it’s my only release from the drudgery of domestic life.

That reads like you have a problem with alcohol.

Edgarj7674 · 31/07/2019 14:43

@WorraLiberty why wouldn’t this be a serous thread? Seems like a reasonable question to me. Perhaps I should just stick to questions about kiddies party invites, mil problems or asking if I’m pregnant?

I dunno, I just thought you might be on a wind up, given all the massive over reactors the thread has already attracted Grin Wine
