My doc ended up prescribing me a soap free wash called QV when bathing and also a 4 month supply of oral tablets for thrush that i took once a week. Maybe tmi but after trying to work out the cause... diet,, clothing etc we discovered my partner had a yeast infection on the skin of his hands. Can only assume he was passing it on to me everytime i got rid iykwim.

Are you diabetic ?

Have you thought about changing from disposable sanitary wear to cloth pads?
No chemicals and nasty bits rubbing into sensitive areas. You can buy them online, more expensive but worth it in the long run, especially if it helps with itchiness

Yes, I had a good friend who actually dumped her boyfriend as she blamed him, when it actually turned out to be her washing powder. Thankfully he forgave her.

I wear. I've also found some underwear I know hasn't been used in the washing powder to rule this out.
@IAskTooManyQuestions no I'm not diabetic

Try cutting yeast & sugar out of your diet completely for 3 months ? You might be intolerant and by eating bread, sugar, mushrooms etc you're feeding the problem. You have to be very strict and read labels as it's amazing what contains yeast/yeast extract but it worked for me.

Yes. I have to use plain old non-bio, none of these fancy tablets with two types in etc, use Sanex shower gel and Canesfresh intimate wash. Have to use organic plain sanitary stuff, use a brand called TOTM which you can get online or in some Tesco's as tampax etc set me off. It's awful!

Thanks for all the replies about trying different stuff I'm just hoping it was the washing powder and not soaps cos I love a smelly soap

I had this problem when younger, in my 30s (now 68) I was advised by my doctor to use natural live yogurt as a topical cream applied to my vagina by a syringe, a child's medicine syringe would do, when it was active, and never use bubble bath, or anything scented added to bathwater, or scented soap in that area, to use non biological washing powder. I have not suffered since, unless I have used the wrong washing powder by mistake or put something in bathwater, even if it is supposed to be nonallergenic.
