Crowdfunding?!

I've just seen someone post asking for people to donate to help someone in a tricky situation, and commented "big or small it doesn't matter".
Yet they haven't donated anything?! (There's a list of all the donations/ names).

AIBU that they should have also donated "big or small"?!

Perhaps they donated anonymously? I usually do.

PennyGold · 28/07/2019 23:52

There isn't any anonymous donations as I thought of this (I was looking to see what the average donation was to give me an idea of what to give).

Then maybe they're utterly skint but wanted to give the cause publicity anyway? I've done that too. Blush

Yup

PennyGold · 29/07/2019 00:05

I don't think she's massively skint (she uploaded photos of her tonight out for dinner/ cocktails). However, I don't know her well/ only see what's on FB so maybe you're right.
If so, guess it worked as I donated as it's a good cause.

I've shared fundraising posts but given cash personally to avoid the charges some sites impose so my name wouldn't be down as donating.
I didn't realise people would turn sleuth to try and catch me out!!

They probably should have donated, I personally don't mind crowd funding and usually donate privately, it has help lots of great causes.

WiddlinDiddlin · 29/07/2019 01:42

When I have run crowdfunders, I've always asked people to share and comment etc, because it helps more people see it. That way those who can't afford to give can still help.

They may also have donated directly, or they may not have had the required payment method, and have given someone else cash to donate for them.
