This is not a funny ad

How on earth did the manager go “yes! Perfect!”

Pernack =panackelty. MIL always announced when she'd "made a nice pernack at the weekend. It was ideal."

StealthPolarBear · 28/07/2019 16:10

Ah thank you

PickAChew · 28/07/2019 16:12

I first encountered cheese savoury up here and haven't seen it anywhere else. Cheese and onion, yeah, but it's not quite the same.

RightOnTheEdge · 29/07/2019 18:29

I love a parmo tbf.
It's a chicken steak in breadcrumbs covered in bechemel sauce and then melted cheese.
I don't think I'd fancy one from this place though.

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2019 19:16

No garlic? I always assumed garlic but maybe that's because it looks like a kiev

GloGirl · 29/07/2019 19:32

The food looks completely rancid, all I can say is anyone who punches their ex deserves to eat there.

I'm sure the department who issue alcohol licenses would be delighted to hear how they serve drinks and promote violence!

I had a reply back from ASA already regarding this.

The phrase- ‘what the fuck springs to mind’ just NO

GloGirl · 29/07/2019 19:59

Excellent @Heismyopendoor

flapslack · 29/07/2019 20:12

Parmo?
Where did that name come from for garlic chicken?
Different language!

quizqueen · 29/07/2019 20:26

I don't think the dead cow lying there would find it remotely funny.

AnyFucker · 29/07/2019 21:49

Is parmo short for parmigiana ?

Comps83 · 29/07/2019 21:55

Parmesan

StarGOLD · 29/07/2019 22:01

Great response from the ASA..well done..👍🏻

Fraggling · 29/07/2019 22:30

Yes well done

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 29/07/2019 22:30

A parmo is a bastardised parmigiana.
Butterflied chicken breast, breadcrumbed, fried covered in bechemel.sauce and then put through a pizza oven covered in cheese. Served with chips, salad and loads of garlic sauce (mayonnaise with garlic in it)
Served in all self respecting Teesside takeaways.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 29/07/2019 22:33

Awful advert but great way to advertise. Majorly taking advantage of 'no such thing as bad press' opinion, as shown here. This was a shitty little advert on Facebook, now thousands more people will know about this pub from the multiple threads I have seen on here alone. Not every person will find this that offensive or will laugh, ergo you have just boosted their customer base by being so offended!

ChocChocButtons · 30/07/2019 06:44

There food looks foul and using works like “parmo and Nom Nom” makes them sound chavy! Not my thing.

Triglesoffy · 30/07/2019 06:47

Yes chocchoc - it does seem to be a rather downmarket establishment. Botulism on a plate.

GoFiguire · 30/07/2019 07:30

Love how @Igotthemheavyboobs is offended that we’re offended 🤣

ChocChocButtons · 30/07/2019 07:49

I don’t think she’s offended I think she’s got a point. By being offensive and obnoxious the advert has drawn them attention. People will likely go now just to see how bad it is.

Fraggling · 30/07/2019 08:15

So no one should complain about any ads ever?

Sounds like a shit plan.

The linked trip advisor review saying there was a pube in the food and on complaining, the manager threatened to have his wife beaten up is good publicity is it?

WhiteDust · 30/07/2019 08:27

Glogirl got here first! 😂
WTH is that?!!! Look at the Sunday dinner too! 🤮

I have seen similar "jokes" on social media that actually make sense and some of them are witty but this is not remotely funny and doesn't actually make sense. How cringe worthy for the company

Good time to revive this thread. Find out in the next week if this twat gets to keep his license.
