To ask if anyone else has a funny tummy as a result of the heat?!

Is this a thing? I've had an upset tummy when it's been hot before whilst abroad but always put it down to a change of water etc. It's been dodgy since it's been very hot for the last few days...

I always go the other way, no matter much fluid I drink.

glittertissues · 25/07/2019 18:10

I’ve had random indigestion and feel really bloated since this heatwave.

I’ve had enough!

SummerSeasoning · 25/07/2019 18:11

I did a lot of walking on Monday in the middle of the day and ended up with chills and a dodgy tum.

Areyoufree · 25/07/2019 18:13

Could be dehydration - that can make you feel pretty nauseous. Need to keep salts up, as well as water.

WhiteDust · 25/07/2019 18:13

Yes it's a thing. Dehydration does that to you. Drink lots water.

soundsystem · 25/07/2019 18:55

Yep I have this and DD is complaining of the same.

I try to stop myself getting dehydrated but it's difficult when I can't keep anything down, even water!

I find regular nibbling on small amounts of cold stuff helps a bit (berries, melon, ice cubes, mini Magnums!)

missnevermind · 25/07/2019 19:09

The heat affects me terribly. Hot waves and diarrhoea.
I cannot have anything too cold during the day so no ice cream or ice in drinks and milky drinks I feel as though they curdle in my stomach. But lattes are fine as they are hot.

AcrossthePond55 · 25/07/2019 19:48

Yes, my tummy gets more sensitive in extreme heat.

I find that if I drink tepid-to-cool drinks instead of really cold drinks it seems to help. Not as refreshing, but doesn't seem to give that 'shock' to my stomach that really cold drinks do.

And eating lighter helps too. Smaller meals throughout the day rather than 3 solid meals. I also found that I was tending to eat more 'acidy' foods when it's hot. Moderating that helps too.

WhyDoesItAlways · 25/07/2019 19:55

I get this. Haven't had it this heatwave but have done when I'm in a particularly hot country.

Had no idea it could be linked to dehydration. I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I assumed the heat was just melting my poop Blush

SuzieQ10 · 25/07/2019 20:08

Yes. I've had the runs today and yesterday. Due to over heating.

user1470132907 · 25/07/2019 20:21

Yup, I have today and yesterday, and also got it once on a very hot day in Belgium, where the diet was pretty similar to home. That time it was 40 degrees and I had full on cramps.

gonewiththepotter · 25/07/2019 20:25

I’m not sure how much of my feeling crap is due to the heat and how much is due to being 4-5 weeks pregnant 🙄

But I’m not well!

Shedoesntevengohere1 · 25/07/2019 20:27

Honestly thought we were the only ones 😂 my husband and I have had the same problem over the last two or three days. Did think it was most probably the heat!

Newearringsplease · 25/07/2019 20:28

Well I've had the runs, I thought it was sour strawberries I had

missmouse101 · 25/07/2019 20:32

I always get the squits in hot weather. Awful.

MissB83 · 25/07/2019 20:50

Quite relieved it's not just me! Assumed first that it was a bug but I think it must be the heat/dehydration. Having a lot of water and very weak juice and that seems to be helping...

My DH gets it, as if being roasting isn't bad enough! Lots of fluids

BalonzZofloraHernandez · 25/07/2019 20:58

Yes Blush me too

I have (mild) IBS and it's definitely worse the last few days. I'm usually worse over the summer, or if it's especially humid.

Thought it was just me!

FrenchyQ · 25/07/2019 21:07

Same here too, had an iffy tummy for the last 3 days. Trying to drink more today and that seems to be helping
