I'm on the last day of a 2 week holiday in the sun and before I came I fretted about wearing a bikini (I even started a thread on it) for weeks.

I've seen every shape and size in every conceivable type of swimwear and it really does not matter a jot what size you are. Nobody gives a shit. I admit I'm not prancing about showing off but im also not legging it to the poolside and slithering in like an eel so as not to expose too much like i usually do.

It's taken me 41 years to realise that nobody looks. So i thought I'd tell you too!

It was a recent comment on MN that made me appreciate that nobody will give a crap what I look like on the beach this summer (except me). It took the pressure off trying to lose weight and feeling crap at failing.
I am worried that I'm going to feel worse when I'm actually confronted by my own body in a bikini every day though

This is so true. I look and admire the fit bods, but I also admire the confident girls with bigger figures, the older guys with beer guts.... everyone's in it together and nobody cares. It's quite liberating when you realise!
