AIBU holiday abroad with 4 month old?

Posting here for traffic. My partner had booked a week off in September, I'm currently on maternity leave. I really want a holiday, we haven't been abroad for ages and I want to celebrate this new babba!

Husband unsure of travel with a 4 month old but loads of people say it's easiest when they're under 6 months. I also breastfeed which removes some faff.

I need ideas on where to go. Where is not too hot (damn this heat wave!) under 3 hours to fly to and baby friendly?!

We went to Mauritius and Dubai with our DS at 16 weeks. It was great and so easy!

Also went to Majorca several times before he was 1 and it's fine - we love Pollensa or Cala Egos, quiet and gentle sloping beaches. Self catering ideal at that age!

We went to Spain when my baby was 9 weeks old it was lovwyly. Not too long a flight and lovely weathe. Flight was easy tbh. She slept the whole way there and back.

I definitely think it is easier when they are still on milk and don’t move. But for me the issue was sleep.

DD was a baby who did not sleep in a pram in the evening. So going out with the hope of a sleeping baby next to us while eating was a no-go. So we went on holiday but did self catering and just enjoyed food and drink in peace when DD was a sleep in her cot. We went out during the day and had lunch with no problem. If you have a similar baby you could also look for apartment hotels and eat together and just stay in a room without the baby for the evening.

Spain can be good mid September, a friend has an apartment on Majorca and they will go with their baby mid September for a week. You could look up Italy like Lake Garda.

Spain was my first thought but I worried about the heat. Lake Garda seems a good shout.

Do it! LO will sleep loads in the heat and they are so much easier at that age!

Go wherever you want to go and enjoy the fact they aren’t mobile, not eating food yet etc. Lake Garda is lovely!

God yes! They're easiest when they don't move! Wherever you go, just make sure there's plenty of shade for the baby and plenty of water on tap for you!

Enjoy your holiday.

Yeah great time to take them. Cuddly baby, no plane seat, breast feed and they can’t walk!
