5:15 today, black our blinds do not work. Skipped naps, wakes up cranky, bed later cranky. How is I've reached a point in my life where 7 would be a lie in

Same here. 4.15 yesterday. 5.20 today. I just try and make sure my little one is in bed for 7. Doesn't work if we keep her up later, somehow she ends up waking earlier 😩 won't last forever tho, my 2 older children used to be early risers but now there currently still asleep and me and youngest snuggling on the couch watching telly.

If you wipe a damp sponge over the window and stick tin foil up this completely blocks out light. How old is your DC?

Moominfan · 25/07/2019 06:54

Support groups and extra strong coffee is needed. He's 2.5 so still awhile to go

Same here. I'm exhausted. At least they slept last night until their 5am start, the night before I was only in bed for about 4 hours, not consecutively Sad

BeanBag7 · 25/07/2019 06:59

Could he be over tired. Rather than skipping naps and later bedtime, some sources suggest a good nap and an earlier bedtime actually helps. I know my 2.5 year old is more likely to wake early if she hasn't napped the day before.

Readysetcake · 25/07/2019 07:00

Same here. Yet my 1 year old wakes every 3 hours in the night to scream for a bit then go back to sleep. We can’t work out what he wants and goes back quicker if we just leave him alone. But I’m still wide awake every three hours. So fucking tired.

Littlecaf · 25/07/2019 07:02

Feel your psin. Usually 5.30 here. I refuse to go downstairs until 6. The oldest (4) now reads/plays in his bedroom but the nearly 2 yo has started doing it.

Black out blinds don’t make any difference - it was pitch black on holiday, they were stay up til 9pm and still woke up early.

As others have said, just make sure they are in bed by 7.30 or whatever. Apparently school helps. Roll on September!

lulabaloo · 25/07/2019 07:03

Yes extra coffee and i make sure I'm in bed for 10pm myself. This stage won't last forever. My youngest is 3 and she will randomly sleep in till 6.40-7. I love them mornings 🤗

Wouldn't rule out over tiredness we've had quite a few days out. Today the furtherest I'm going is local park to break the day up.

My three have been asking incessant questions since 5.15. We are now having a competition to see who ca go the longest without asking me anything!
