To sleep in the garden in the hammock tonight

It’s 28 degrees in the house. I’m in zone 2 in London.

The hammock in the garden looks incredibly inviting (the hammock stand is the best thing I’ve bought in a long time)

I’m too chicken though.
The kids are inside but they are all 11+ and DP is away

Nah it will fuck your back up unless you can lie diagonally flat

Bignicetree · 24/07/2019 23:48

Yup do it

Gatepost1820 · 24/07/2019 23:49

The spiders, think of the spiders & the creepy crawlies!

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:49

One word : horseflies it may be 2

ThePhoenixRises · 24/07/2019 23:50

I would with a sleeping bag and pillow

NoSquirrels · 24/07/2019 23:51

Oh, do it. LOVE a hammock.
Just remember the bug spray all over, and a pillow...

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:52

Nah- devoid of mozzies and horseflies round here.

Jasmine flowers above the hammock, night-scented Stocks below, and one of my neighbours is definitely having a joint Hmm

I'm in Yorkshire where it's not even that hot and I'm sleeping Jin the garden in my sleeping bag and camping mat next to the patio so I can come in if I get cold. I do it all the time in summer as soon as it's vaguely warm. My neighbours think I'm weird but I just love being outdoors.

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:53

Every time I retreat to read a book in it in the dayrime I end up asleep

TeapotofTerror · 24/07/2019 23:53

Lucky you! Why not?!
I'd do it if I had a hammock... and a garden to put one in...
I was just saying to DH tonight, we could sleep in a tent if we had a garden!

FanDabbyFloozy · 24/07/2019 23:54

If your corner of London is like my neck of the woods, you won't sleep outside between the screeching foxes, the dawn chorus at 3.45am, the scraping cats, the flies and any passing ambulances that might be in your area. I'd stay in personally..

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:54

The dog might join me

TheSilveryPussycat · 24/07/2019 23:55

Another one saying do it!

RosaWaiting · 24/07/2019 23:57

In the garden yes
Not sure about a hammock though
I’m clumsy so I’d fall out!

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:57

Actually Fan you’re right because a train just went past. Plus - as you say - the foxes round here are.... having a lot of sexy time recently. dDog is beside himself about it.

Plus it’s not unlnown for police helicopters and cars to appear from nowhere. I actually think it might be ‘too hot’ for crime

Missproportionate · 24/07/2019 23:58

Nope - the aeroplanes start at 4am too :-(

I had a flight of fancy

The other fun dampener on the early morn wake up ? Dew.

I am, however, looking out at my long garden bench which has a padded seat and am verrry tempted myself.

DrCoconut · 25/07/2019 00:08

Depends on the area. I wouldn't sleep anywhere other than locked in the house at my current (and previous) house.

cheeseislife8 · 25/07/2019 00:12

Definitely do it if you feel safe enough! You might wake up stiff as a board but it beats being a sweaty mess like me

MitziK · 25/07/2019 00:12

Horseflies. Get the evil fuckers in zone 2 as well.

Sparklfairy · 25/07/2019 00:14

But... you'll get darked on! Shock

And what about all the spiders rubbing their willies on your face?!

Missproportionate · 25/07/2019 00:18

I’ve come in. A mosquito bit me Shock

I live in a very mixed part of town- but actually - we’ve been here ten years and I’ve never been aware of anyone being in the garden.

Missproportionate · 25/07/2019 00:20

If I wake up at dawn I’m going out there though
