To ask does Cineworld have air con?

I'm assuming Cineworld cinemas have air con? Am thinking of taking the DC tomorrow as a summer holiday treat, and thought it would be a good day to go due to forecast extremely hot weather, so we can languish in the air con! But thought I'd ask as would be a nightmare to be stuck in there in extreme heat if they don't! Can't see confirmation on website at all.

Anytime I've been to the cinema it's been absolutely freezing with air con, one of the reasons I hate going!

RockyRolly · 24/07/2019 22:01

All cinemas have air con yes

dilemmasdecisions · 24/07/2019 22:02

That's what I thought, but then doubted myself! Felt quite pleased with myself for genius idea, but realised I'd feel a bit daft if it turned out I'd assumed incorrectly Grin

As long as it's working!!

Went last year in heat wave and it was broken and they didn't tell u on booking! It's was horrendous

Maryann1975 · 24/07/2019 22:04

I’m always freezing at the cinema (our local one is a cineworld). If I was going tomorrow I would probably take a jacket just in case!

ihatethecold · 24/07/2019 22:04

Yes. I went on Tuesday. It was chilly

twitterbird · 24/07/2019 22:04

I went today, kids moaned it was too cold Grin

Pleaser256 · 24/07/2019 22:05

I was at a showcase cinema de Lux last week to watch Toy Story4 with DS and DH and it was baking inside the cinema. After about half an hour, DH was about to get up to complain and then we could feel it coming on.
I am sure it will be on, but it won’t hurt to mention it before you go in and ask them to confirm

HairyFloppins · 24/07/2019 22:05

Yes although in our Cineworld the air con has a mind of it's own.

BooksAreMyOnlyFriends · 24/07/2019 22:12

Ours does. It's blissful at first but mid-film it starts to becomes freezing so I take a cardie.

If it's too warm ask the staff if the air con is on. They might have forgotten it.

dilemmasdecisions · 24/07/2019 22:44

God yes there's always the chance it isn't working, and then I won't feel quite so smug about my clever plan! Fingers crossed!!!!

I have booked cinema tickets for tomorrow as well! There’s no way I can cope in our ridiculously hot house otherwise!

Tinks1990 · 24/07/2019 23:22

Usually very high air con, although screens 12-13 were broken today at Crawley

theorchidwhisperer · 25/07/2019 00:37

Yes it does. You'll need to take a light jacket or cardigan as it gets cold after an hour in AC.

Pickie64 · 25/07/2019 09:11

Hi, I work at Cineworld. Yes, we do have AC in our cinemas. Also, if you feel that a screen is either too cold or too warm, you can inform a member of staff and it can be adjusted. Enjoy your film. Smile

Pickie64 · 25/07/2019 09:12

Which cineworld are you going to?

cheeseheaven · 25/07/2019 09:18

No all cinemas do not have air con. I have worked in many over the years. If it’s a modern big-ish one and you are seeing a film in a large screen you will definitely have air con. But pretty much all of the smaller cinemas I’ve worked in only had aircon in their biggest screen. Maybe outing but the one I worked in last summer was so hot during the heatwave that the projectors stopped working and the films kept stopping!

dilemmasdecisions · 26/07/2019 19:35

Update: it was a success! Although the air con wasn't working in one screen (they were telling people as they arrived, and had jugs of iced water for people to help themselves to) but ours was fine. It was perfect temperature in fact, cool but not so cold we needed to use the cardigans etc I'd taken just in case!
