Sister got engaged

My sister got engaged to her partner a few days ago, and announced it all on Facebook, she did not and still has not informed me personally by either text or phone call. AIBU to think that she is a bit of a cow for not letting me know properly but having to find out via social media? BTW it’s not like she is a bit of a kid, she is 48 so should know better.

I guess it depends how close your relationship is, but yes, I'd be a bit upset about this.

Maybe she thought just announce it on Facebook so everyone can find out at the same time and not accuse us of favouritism but it totally backfired?

Perhaps she hasn't informed anyone personally as she did it on fb? Did u congratulate her on fb?

I agree that it's not a nice way to find out, I've had something similar happen and it is both annoying and hurtful.

Has she personally informed other members of the family and just not you? If you’re the only one not informed then YANBU to be upset, otherwise, if everyone heard via FB then fair enough.
