to be worried they havent got in touch

Partner and DD have gone on a first camping trip together to the lakes. I asked them to call when they got there, they left at 1pm, due to arrive at 4 but they havent been in touch - when I call his phone it just goes to voicemail.

I fully expect them not to have signal though, so there is a plausible explanation. Still worried though.

Not sure what to do.

They'll have got to the site, found there is no signal and not wanted to go off site again to try for one. Lots of the Lakes seems to have poor signal. Try not to worry.

gettingtherequickly · 23/07/2019 21:25

Please don't worry, the lakes are a nightmare for phones.

Hippee · 23/07/2019 21:26

Does the campsite have a phone number? Perhaps they could confirm that they have checked in. I wouldn't worry though - we had no signal in the Lakes.

queenqueenqueen · 23/07/2019 21:28

I'd be bothered, ring the campsite x

isthisfairidontknow · 23/07/2019 21:32

Just rang the campsite, they arent open now. I should have checked at 5 pm!

If they have no signal you’ll not get through. I wouldn’t worry if something had happened you’d be notified by now.

queenqueenqueen · 23/07/2019 21:35

I'd ring the camp site as soon as it opened in morning and when all was ok be really pissed off! Haha that's jiste though. How old is your DD? XX

queenqueenqueen · 23/07/2019 21:36

Just me *

Raspberrytruffle · 23/07/2019 21:39

Dont sweat it , I regularly go to the lakes and never have signal.

NoNoNoOohmaybe · 23/07/2019 23:33

What site are they at? Some have great signal some have nothing for miles around

mumtobob · 23/07/2019 23:47

I am very sure there will be no signal but I understand why you're worried - although I can worry before my dc get to the end of the street!

isthisfairidontknow · 24/07/2019 07:38

They're in Buttermere and she's 7 I'll call the site at 9 am.

Treaclepie19 · 24/07/2019 07:42

Hopefully they'll be able to reassure you when you phone.
Sounds likely that they have no signal and didn't want to leave camp.

PumpkinPie2016 · 24/07/2019 07:45

Call the site when they open but I'm.sure they will be fine.

I go to the Lakes a lot and signal can really be very poor/non existant! They probably realised when they arrived that there wasn't any.

namechangeninjaevervigilant · 24/07/2019 07:52

If there was anything wrong (hospital/car accident) you’d know quick enough. In situations like this no news is good news.

RubbingHimSourly · 24/07/2019 07:57

Signal round Buttermere is crap.

queenqueenqueen · 24/07/2019 11:56

Hope all was ok OP xx

JacquesHammer · 24/07/2019 12:20

Hope all was ok, OP.

The waiting longer to hear that you expect isn’t a nice feeling.

Gets really hard to be rational Flowers
