Or are they an absolutely shattered, hot, sweaty, irritable grumpy mess like mine is?

Anyone who's baby is asleep....congratulations

@TheBabyAteMyBrain I shall hold you to it 😁

FckIt · 23/07/2019 22:40

6 month old had a bath at 6.30. Only just fallen asleep. Albeit downstairs in his bouncing chair.

Is it acceptable to have a double vodka and orange on ice???

BrutusMcDogface · 23/07/2019 22:41

My beautiful little fucker is still awake and it’s 22.40. I’ve got SOOOO MUCH TO DO. 😭

Tallgreenbottle · 23/07/2019 22:45

I just caved and gave ds2 a mini-milk... He's gone back to bed after finishing it (and a good flannel down) a hot happy mess for now.

ChaChaDeGregorio · 23/07/2019 22:46

@BertieBotts Good idea re pull ups! Didn't realise you could get them small enough. She wears size 4 nappies

crispysausagerolls · 23/07/2019 22:47

1 year old lost his shit completely and went to bed at 18.15, which I know was early even for him and will result in an outrageously early morning for me but what the hell can you do? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wheresmrlion · 23/07/2019 22:54

Baby and toddler went down fine, cool bath then zonked out in minimal clothing, I think the has just tired then out.

However baby will need feeding in the night (I’d forgotten how awful breastfeeding is in this weather, small sticky hot water bottle baby plastered against you) and toddler will end up in with me at some point, insisting on making skin contact like a small wriggly heated blanket.

So I’ve got that to look forward to!

zebrapig · 23/07/2019 22:55

18 month old went straight to sleep at 7.15 after screaming the whole way through his bath. He's got shortie pj's and 0.5tog grobag on. 4yo went to sleep at 8.45 after crying that she wanted me to sleep with her no fucking chance. Just checked on her and she's tucked right up under her duvet. Mad child!

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 23/07/2019 23:30

Ha! The toddler has finally given in! Aannndddd...the baby is up for a feed. The games have begun.

sarahfairy · 24/07/2019 18:13

Round 2....10 month old ds fell alseep on the way home after an afternoon out. Not what I wanted but couldn't be helped. He's quite happy at the min munching on some cucumber, ham and cheese which he's having for tea....not even going to attempt bedtime until 9pm.

There's no sun where I am now but it's so muggy.

5mo appears to be down and out (!) though it was hard earned- 3 baths, approximately 17 nanoseconds of naps and a lot of hot sweaty messiness today. And something tells me I haven't seen the last of her this side of teatime!

sarahfairy · 24/07/2019 18:56

Mine is crawling around the garden, quite cool outside! Happy for him to hopefully wear him self out out here for as long as it takes! It's nice outside....I'm missing a glass of wine though Wine

10mo has just gone down after pissing about at the boob for half an hour. There was a lot of feeding, crawling off and falling asleep and then waking up and coming back for some more. He want into his cot awake with no fuss eventually though. He barely ate any dinner so I suspect there might be an angry night wake at some point.

Sexnotgender · 24/07/2019 18:58

5 month old DS is sleeping. Room is only 23 degrees which is ok.

Kyriesmum1 · 24/07/2019 19:09

Ours is always asleep by 8, but I'm jammy and have an air conditioner in my bedroom where she sleeps too!! Bloody godsend!!

PirateWeasel · 24/07/2019 19:44

10 month old napped late until 6pm and is currently practising his rolling skills all over my bed 🤦 Don't think we'll be getting much sleep tonight. Roll on Autumn!

sarahfairy · 24/07/2019 19:49

Mine is 10 months old too....@PirateWeasel do you remember how hot it was last summer when you were preggers and dreaming of what a nice summer you will have next year like I did?!

NEtoN10 · 24/07/2019 21:17

Our bedroom is 28 degrees doing everything to cool it down. It's usually about 23 degrees which DS is used to but this is way too much. Feeding is horrendous I'm so sweaty I feel bad for him!

BertieBotts · 24/07/2019 21:27

Yep, you can get pull ups in some brands from size 4 :)

DS2 took 3 hours to go down again tonight. Don't know if it's the heat or what.

ClaraLane · 24/07/2019 21:31

My just turned 2 year old is still awake and I’m exhausted. Plus my idiot husband took her fan to work today and didn’t bring it back meaning she’s got it in her room and our room is sweltering!

Lwmommy · 24/07/2019 21:35

Hot water bottle filled with cold water and a well squeezed out damp flannel draped over her back worked for DD.

Smurf123 · 24/07/2019 21:42

My 16 month old cried to go to bed at 645 tonight - that's unheard of for him! Especially with it being 2230 last night... Although he has already woken once and fan is now on as he is incredibly hot and sweaty

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 25/07/2019 20:44

Mine are still naked and playing in the garden... Hosepipe wars with a toddler counts as a bath for us all... Right?

BertieBotts · 25/07/2019 21:53

Defo. 10.30 tonight by the time we got him down.

TheBabyAteMyBrain · 25/07/2019 23:32

Well the toddler is just crashing now. Poor sod could not settle in the heat at all. I ended up rocking him like a baby and singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star 500 times. He's a big lad, it was rather comical having him draped out of my arms like an overgrown baby.
