That grown men don’t look good in skinny jeans?

My friend’s brother, good looking slimish bloke in his 40’s, usually wears bootleg or straight leg jeans that he looks good in. Today he was wearing skinny jeans and it was HORRIBLE. All tight down his leg and he'd suddenly developed these weird womans hips …. I couldn’t help but shudder. I’m not a fan of anyone male or female above 14 years old in the skinnies, and I'm not trying to be funny. But seriously… am I the only person in the world who thinks they look particularly terrible on grown blokes???!!.

They’re dreadful - as a man I steadfastly avoid them.

There is nothing wrong with the straight/slim cut jean worn well, with the right shirt, T-shirt or jacket.

However a generation of TOWIE men/Russell Brand etc have single handedly skewed the norms and I’m more in a minority, as so many men I know of my age (late 30s) wear spray on jeans that look like leggings (ugh) and strange low cut T-shirts with plastic jewels on them adorning washed out skull motifs or something similarly “edgy”, a look I’ve gently termed “off duty boy band”.

Bootleg jeans are disturbing, does anywhere even still sell that cut?! Horrible.

Skinny jeans are fine on many men. My DH wears black ones pretty much all of the time and he looks fantastic in them.

Grown men can wear what they want just as women can. It’s like saying ‘grown women’ shouldn’t wear mini skirts. They can if they so wish.

Totally agree, OP. Skinny jeans on men makes me want to stare and stare in sheer horror. Can’t they see how appallingly unattractive they look?

I agree, it just doesn’t work. They either look pipe cleaner skinny (not good) or weirdly femininely curved (worse) or just too big. And the arse of the jeans always hangs down and makes you worry that the whole thing is going to collapse altogether. Straight or slightly baggy cut jeans are best on men.

Totally depends on the man. And the jeans.

Some look great, some look dreadful. Same as women, I’ve seen women look absolutely stunning in skinny jeans and others look dreadful.

DH looks great in them, he's tall and slim with a cracking pair of legs, if he wasn't he'd probably not look as good.

YANBU. I imagine some men imagine they look like a grungy, cool rockstar. Its bad enough when they're in their teens but older men wearing them just look even more awful.

Meh, I can't get worked up about it. People wear what they want to wear, and as long as they're happy, I'm happy.

Having said that, DH is in his late 50s, still has a terrific arse and legs, and looks great in them...

I agree! I saw three men in their 20s the other day. All wearing such tight jeans they looked as if they'd been sprayed on. None of the men were overweight but they weren't thin either. They looked terrible! It did seem to make their bums, thighs, legs look very womanly. I've also noticed young men wearing 3/4 length pin stripe trousers. What's all that about?!

Nah, skinny jeans are great, can't blame anyone for wearing them, male or female. Can't imagine ever going back to bootcut or baggy jeans again.
